Honor level 5

i got banned for a few days for boosting a long time ago, maybe around 7/8 months ago, and i just now got back to honor level 5 from honor level 0. i'm never toxic, and i could bet money that you couldn't find more than one or two things that could be relatively "toxic" that i've said in the past 7 months. the point of this, is that no matter how much people on here complain that climbing honor levels is impossible, it's not. sure it might take a long time, and i'm sure it only took as long for me because i don't play TOO often (although it's almost daily, but i know people play much more than me) so really, there's no excuse for not being able to get a higher honor level, you're just toxic lol.

TL;DR : even if u are at honor level 0, just dont be toxic and you'll get there

This right here is the TL;DR and is the honest truth.

from 0 to 5 in 7-8 months... that is impressive considering 95% of people i saw say it took them 5-6 months to get from 0 to 2. and riot "buffed" that meaning its easier to climb from 0 to 2.

I'll never get there again. I hardly play the game enough to grind it [sg-ahri-1] I hope Riot starts getting their shit together one day. The client being a buggy mess really was the last straw for me. I couldn't even get into a game!

Before the bot invasion, I was able to get multiple accounts to Honor Level 5 just doing a single co-op game a day for FWotD quest; after the bot invasion, my one-game-a-day accounts could only get to Honor Level 4.

Having observed friends struggle to advance in Honor, though, I would say that getting to Honor level 5 is not trivial. Even if you are just slightly toxic, it slows your Honor gain a lot. There seems to be a very fine line between getting Honor regularly and almost not at all.

After paying close attention, I find that the small things you do to go beyond just being "non-toxic" make huge differences. Some people just do these naturally without any effort, so they think it's nothing, but for a lot of players it takes conscious effort that's far from automatic.

For example, you play a game of Legend of the Poro King, you do badly at the start and one of your teammates start to talk about how bad you are, repeatedly. You say nothing and just keep trying. Your team ends up winning anyway, boom, you get 2x Honor from your other teammates because you didn't escalate things and cause a loss. Same scenario, except with your "non-toxic" friend, who can't help but defend herself in a "non-toxic" way in chat. Your team ends up winning anyway, boom, no Honor.

Little things like this add up. Give people reasons to Honor you, not just "I was not toxic. I was reasonable." That's how you advance.
