How far off meta you have to get so Riot would actually ban you?

AS title says. I know riot has absolutely ridiculous standards and really loves labeling as trolls and punishing people that actually trying to win. Even though they use unconventional methods.

So does anyone has even general idea where the safe line lies? Like even if your teammates were to freak out and submit enough reports, you would not get banned after manual review.

I dunno. Playing smite support Nunu then running around the enemy jungle inting 0/14 in a 20 minute match apparently isn't enough. So you pretty much have to run it down mid with all tears to not be considered "off-meta"

Q: If intentions are clearly aimed at victory, is there an outer boundary for too unconventional a pick/build/strategy? A: No.

Refusing to communicate with your team (smite support singed) or having a score that's obviously feeding is where they draw the line. Even then, you have a lot of wiggle room as to what is considered "fair game."

Although if you bitch about it enough on the forums you'll probably get unbanned though.

If I want to try something, I tell everyone so they can at least prepare. I can tell you two thinks I tried that worked well.

Twisted Fate ADC: you're likely to lose the early game, but get a good crit/attack speed build and you're golden once you get enough items. Master Yi ADC: Works best with Braum. If successful, your opponents will accuse you of cheating.
