League and Toxicity

Just got done with a game and I was absolutely appalled by what some people were typing about their teammate at the end of the game. I don't trust the reporting system so I figured I'd put some of what was said here:

"i hope he gets aids and dies and his whole family too" "i want to skull fuck his mom for giving birth to such a piece of shit" "he must have come out of her asshole instead of her vagina"

This should not be tolerated at all, but I have the feeling that even having been reported, nothing will come of it. He didn't feel threatened of being reported. This is what is wrong. League needs some sort of escalating feedback system (starting with warnings stating something of the affect, "we've noticed you were reported on multiple accounts for grieving, this is unacceptable and a punishable offense"). If players feel like the game is actually watching for bad behavior, it would go a long way to fighting the toxic behavior that we see so regularly.

completely agree. unfortunately you get people who think you should just "get over it" because "it's the internet" and most don't realize that letting these people get away with what they say/do by telling you to get over it is just letting these players run rampant without facing consequences. saw someone say they hoped an enemy heimer gets raped by a homeless person and gets aids. that was bad enough, but a fellow teammate actually backed up this toxic player and told another player who called them out on it to "grow up." imo, if you have to make comments like that because you're so shit or having a bad game, you're the one who needs to grow up and be a decent human being. it's not that hard to stop being a dick
