The best way to report a player is not through end game lobby. Most of the times I am unable to completely express in proper terms and reasoning why a player should be reported in the post game lobby. The max character cap should be removed. A quick summary does not explain well enough about the reason for making a report.

tldr Riot, remove the check box in the report page that says "The best way to report abusive behavior is via the post-game lobby in the client at the end of a match." please.

uh, you know for most situations you don't really need to add a whole bunch of contextual info?

Like for nearly all chat based punishments, you basically can just hit the option. The system will scan through the logs anyway (and all of them now, including pre- and post-game chat, which you used to have to specify)

For other things just a quick, short summary is really all you need. You don't need to tell everything that happened.

I do not believe a short summary will help in the decision if the game is not being watched. I am not talking about chat based punishments. I am talking about the players that passive aggressively play the game in a manner that intentionally makes it harder for the same team they are on but know better to say things in chat that will get them banned.

I almost 100% convinced Riot doesn't actually read those text boxes anyway. Got close to about 2000 games played on draft and the amount of trolls we have had int, afk in base running around, afk in jungle, afk farming avoiding everything and backing, racking up kills and then intentionally throwing to make peoples gaming experiences is quite honestly beyond measure.

From what I have experienced and seen, Riot is only bothered with the verbal abuse and that is about it.

It only appears that way as trolling and the like is much harder to reliably catch and punish than a simple text detection program.

Riot cannot make an automated system to catch game play trolling, as aside from incredibly blatant things like "all tear builds" (which I don't think are even possible anymore), the difference between someone who is genuinely new (or is just having a bad game) and people that are actually trolling is near indistinguishable. Riot cannot afford to punish people falsely for things they did not do, so that forces them to err on the side of caution and take action only when it becomes readily apparent.

However, if you want to ensure that someone knows the full context of what happened, then you can submit a support ticket with explanations and/or replays.

I am fine with everything that was said above, but the fact that Riot would rather be safe than actually make sure the game is fair is frustrating. I have introduced about 20 friends to League who have quit due to the amount of trolls Riot protects because they'd rather be safe. They have to do something, the trolls have to be accountable. I mean trolls, and not someone who recently hit level 30 and is still learning.

And if they didn't err to safety, then your 20 friends may have very well been banned for "assumed feeding or trolling" when they were just trying to learn the game. You can't just apply a level cap to it because then not only might you catch someone just having a bad game, but you also cut out any recently banned players that come back to spite.

Yes, it sucks. No one is denying that. But right now, there simply is no better option. It's "damned if you do, slightly less damned if you don't, but still overall damned but I guess that's our only option"

Surely the powers above can analyse a person's match history, in game chat history, what reports have been submitted and connect the dots?

I don't mean something as over extending because you are still learning, I mean acts like playing Tahm Kench for instance, eating your ally, snowballing under turret, spitting them out, and returning back to safety whilst said ally dies (I can't count the amount of times I have seen this happen)

A better example just happened in my last game where the Blitzcrank missed a hook, then afk'd for 3 minutes, came back, flamed everyone and ping spammed them.

Did we report him? Damn right

Will anything happen? Very unlikely

You don't always need to leave a message explaining the reasoning for your report. It helps, but the system is entirely automated so simply checking the correct boxes is more than enough.

I agree. Even though summaries aren't a vital part of reporting, it doesn't make sense as to why there is a limit.

Also, a little bit of nitpicking: your post is already pretty short, you don't need a TL;DR. It's almost the same length as the body of your post lol

I'm sure the character cap is there to limit the amount a Rioter would have to read; they need to manually review as much inting/trolling reports as possible and not get stuck on a single essay
