Then I would suggest you're being a bit pedantic, because I suspect you know what that statement is intended and commonly assumed to imply. If you legitimately do want to be treated like shit, though, I would amend it to "treat others well, even if you do not wish to be treated well yourself."

It's actually pretty similar to "an eye for an eye". It means if you treat someone like shit, you have no right to be offended when others treat you like shit. It also means if you want to be treated nicely, you should be nice to ALL people.

Here comes the kinkshaming

To some degree everyone wants to be acknowledged as having an existence worth respecting; they just see it differently. So even if you prefer being yelled at and beaten as a form of respect, you adjust your view to consider that other people interpret respect differently. Some guys like to tote their beer bellies around as automatic authority, but others like to be fit and healthy. It doesn't mean one can't coexist with the other; rather, both forms are respectable in their own right.

Theres a lot of stipulations to the golden rule. Its not exactly as simple as many want to believe. For instance, someone flames you, you want them banned, badly. Now, can you honestly say that you would WANT to be banned just because someone interpreted what you said to be "flaming"? I cant. If i ever flame someone, I sure dont want to be banned. Thats why I hate vague quotes. Inspirational quotes n shit like that.

I know a woman who occasionally goes on those inspirational quote dives, just searching for them and sending me some from time to time. I always roll my eyes, and i told her I think theyre stupid. I wish i could remember a specific example. But you can pick apart every one of them and its just like a "duh" statement. Like of course bettering yourself everyday is a good thing. (Vague example) you dont need some stupid quote from some guy a hundred years ago to know that. "Anger is like poison" basically boils down to anger isnt good, it only hurts yourself. DUH.

Theres one someone put on a thread I read yesterday, and i instantly downvoted and didnt even readthe post, because if you open a post with a fucking quote from some random human like its supposed to be some profound thought, Im not gonna waste my time reading the rest. Its just stupid obvious shit 99% of the time.

Honestly, with how you post on every single thread, saying that it's perfectly fine to be however toxic you want, I wouldn't be surprised if you do. I feel like you might actually be a masochist who gets his kicks from being told off, by everyone on the boards. But hey, more power to ya I guess.
