2 week ban

Okay so lets start this off with me admitting to having a toxicity problem in the past. but im reformed. In the last game i played today, I had 2 people on my team, an annie support and hecarim jungle, who spam pinged each other in anger for, no exaggeration, probably 6 and a half minutes. EVERY other member on my team including myself asked the 2 of them to please stop, as it was causing a team-wide tilt. after continuing for a couple more rounds of spam pinging, i said "STOP FUCKING SPAM PINGING" the duo (hec and annie) then started saying fuck you gp, youre bad and feeding (I was 0-1 at this point, hec 1-3, annie 1-4) My mid laner was also like 0-6 at this point so the game was clearly over, so at this point i said, can we open mid? this game is so over. bc annie was flaming lux for feeding, after giving up several early kills herself. keep in mind we're not even 10 minutes into the game yet. I said fuck this i want to afk in chat, but i didnt, i kept playing. when 20 minutes rolled around, i was hoping we could surrender, but the vote failed 3-2 and annie said "fuck this gp i want to waste his time since him feeding wasted our time in this game, whatever. Hecarim says ya fuck you gp (so now the spam ping duo is ganging up on me after ganging up on lux to make her feel bad about feeding) and then hecarim asks who boosted me out of bronze (clearly a joke, as im gold and hes silver 5, idk why he was in my ranked game btw he was extremely bad). I then asked him the same question, who boosted you out of bronze?

at this point the game ends, and I ask everyone to report annie and hecarim, i report and then i log off for a while to calm my tilt. I GET BACK ON AND MY ACCOUNT IS SUSPENDED FOR 14 DAYS BECAUSE I GOT REPORTED FOR THIS GAME? RIOT? WHAT THE FUCK? Like jesus i even tried to encourage lux when she fed and I GET BANNED while the other 2 players in the game get no form of punishment? Seriously, if you SOMEHOW find what i said toxic, it is seriously not BAN WORTHY toxicity considering the fact that i havent been toxic in over a month, coming off a 25 game chat restriction. Positive trend of non-toxicity, and then ONE GAME when i have 2 trolls on my team, and I GET BANNED? SERIOUSLY? Am I being ridiculous? Did i deserve this ban? Whats the point of the chat restriction and temporary bans if the goal isnt to reform people? I feel like a serious improvement in in-game behavior warrants at least a, "hey, we didnt like what you said here when you asked your team mates not to be toxic. please stop asking your team mates to stop spam pinging each other, they can do that if they want. thanks - riot." nope just an INSTANT BAN for asking team mates to not be toxic. Riot this is ridiculous. seriously. i submitted a ticket, so hopefully the ban will be removed, let's hope for the best. I posted here bc im frustrated about how real toxicity goes unpunished. thank you -Gangplank

Riot doesn't ban people based on one incident, fact.

What CrimsonSatin said is correct. People are not banned or punished on the basis of a single incident of toxicity, except in the instances of extreme amounts of hate speech. You should have been given a Reform Card when you tried to log back in with 1-3 games of recent chat logs for which you were reported and found to be in violation of the rules by the IFS. In some cases, the Reform Card may only display a single game, but that does not mean that there is only one game that is leading to the punishment. There could have been other games in which you were reported, and you can contact Riot for a complete record of all matches in which you were reported here.

Without seeing your logs, it is difficult to make a guess as to what happened, and why you were given this 14 day suspension. With the way the punishment system works, there are four tiers:

  1. 10 game chat restriction
  2. 25 game chat restriction
  3. 14 day temporary suspension
  4. permanent suspension

Once you are at a tier, if you continue to violate the terms of use and are deemed in need of punishment, the system will automatically bump you to the next tier. Try not to think of it as "Was my behavior really bad enough for a ban?!" The way the rules and guidelines are set, it is "Does this behavior deserve a punishment?" If the answer is yes, then the person is issued the next punishment tier for their level. The good thing about this system is that it is possible to lower your tier by reforming, and consistently showing good behavior. But you have to work off the "negative" status, so to speak. And the more negative you have been, the longer it takes you to work that off. For a ten game chat restriction, it might only take a few weeks of consistent good behavior. I've seen it go as long as 7 months for a 14 day suspension. If you are still getting regularly reported, then you probably aren't going to be working your way down in tiers. Also, try to keep in mind that now that you are at the 14 day suspension, the next step for you is a permaban. And it can take a very long time to drop back down from the 14 day tier. Please, for your sake, mute your team if you have to, but try not to engage in bickering with them.

TL;DR If you would like us to review your logs to give you a little insight as to what might have prompted this to push you into a 14 day suspension, feel free to post them here.

I'm no stranger to seeing how Toxic a player can be. It's frustrating but sometimes that's just how games go. People take this personal for some reason. Whenever I get into matches that can not be won due to the lack of performance of my team mates, I just let them do whatever it is they are doing and I practice on my game. IF they do something that is report worthy ( Simply feeding because they suck is not one of them), I report them. I don't ask players to join in or make it some sort of all chat cry ( that makes it worse ). I just simply report them at the end of the game.

I like to believe that if you had a problem with this player others might have as well. They might of reported as well and multiple reports end in a ban. Maybe it was just a bad game for the player. I don't know, I try not to think to hard when I play LoL. Don't let the piss poor performance of others mess up yours. Just remember that bad games and players happen. It's the cruel nature of every multi player game.

Asking for reports is itself reportable. Don't do it.

A report just flags the game for review by Riot's bots, multiple reports don't change the data they look at. So asking for that is pointless. Just report as necessary, and move on.
