Just A Rant On Riots Horrible Way To Handle Player Behavior

So... I recently just went through my first 14 day ban ever as I've also reached gold for the first time ever. I got banned like two months ago which works out great b/c now I wont get season end rewards (Glad I worked so hard for gold). I literally have all but stopped playing the game now. I don't want to play anymore b/c of fear of ban. I won't buy anything anymore b/c of fear of ban. If my account weren't in this situation. I would literally be buying Champsionship Ashe as I'm typing this. But thanks to the fact that I'll probably just end up wasting money and losing the account to a perma ban if i so much as type GG ez to ezreal. If I DO end up playing. I mute everything from every player on my team b/c of fear of ban. Pings and all get muted. I'm assuming this is the type of player Riot wants to create, b/c instead of encouraging players to use the mute button which is LITERALLY built into the game. They'd rather ban them and have that player stop purchasing anything from them and fear playing the game at all. This doesnt "Improve" player behavior as they claim. It completely discourages them from playing the game period. Communication bans would make SOME sense if there wasnt a mute button. But banning a player from playing the game for that is insane. Maybe permanently ban their chat (if there wasnt a mute button). The actions they take are ridiculous. They worry about everyone's delicate sensibilities b/c we're in 2017 and words apparently physically hurt people now lol. How about we worry less about "The bad guy saying mean words" and worry more about people running it down mid and trolling? I promise you the latter is ruining games far more than the "flamer" bc there is a... get this... a mute button. Thats right. Riot. The game makers themselves LITERALLY built a button into the game so you no longer have the here "The bad guys mean words" but instead lets lose out on money and players b/c we want to ban people for "verbal abuse" which has literally been the foundation for gaming. How many of us grew up playing halo screaming at people over the mic. Every single one of us walked away okay without any bruises or wounds. Now a days you so much as say the all too popular phrase from CoD "Fucking your mom" and riot up and perma bans your account. I would say they need to find a better alternative to banning accounts but they already have it. The MUTE button. Worry about the trolls and feeders more than the flamers. They're the bigger problem and half the reason people end up flaming lol.

Adapt to the changing times or get steamrolled.

Riot does not implement the features you are suggesting/wanting because Riot does not encourage the active removal of communication from a team game. If you want to so choose to (mis)use the features they give you to disable everyone else's chat, that's fine. However, Riot will not make it easier for you to not communicate in the team game that is League.

The mute button is there to prevent others from seeing your abuse, not to prevent you from being punished from your abuse. Further, trolls and feeders are punished, the thing is that many people call people "trolls" or "feeders" that aren't trolling or intentionally feeding but just playing bad or having a bad game. Riot will not punish people for playing poorly beyond the reduction in tier/division.

It really isn't that hard to not get banned. Just be like the other 99.99% of the community who never get punished.

Meaning, to put it bluntly, don't be an asshole and you won't get banned.

You talk too much about money.

sounds like you're the problem honestly if less than 1% of the community has this problem.

Rather than giving the same old reply to the same old cliché "arguments" as to why verbal abuse shouldn't be punished, I'm going to focus on this bit:

but instead lets lose out on money and players b/c we want to ban people for "verbal abuse" which has literally been the foundation for gaming. How many of us grew up playing halo screaming at people over the mic.

You wanna know why I didn't? Because I grew up in the time of LAN parties, where it gets really really awkward when you yell at people sitting just a couple of meters away from you. So no, verbal abuse is most definitely not the "foundation of gaming"; it's the opposite. Because back when people actually knew each other, and back when you had to actually be invited to LAN parties, you can bet your ass that people were respectful to each other... at the very least once the host gave them a warning. What you are describing only started happening when insecure assholes realized they were able to hide behind the anonymity of the internet. It has absolutely nothing to do with gaming.

Believe me when I say that I have read many bullshit arguments in the defence of verbal abuse... but this one takes the crown.
