5 of last 7 games have had someone go AFK or intentionally feed

Hello. I'm writing this forum post for two reasons: 1. to bring up the problem, and 2. try to find a solution

The problem: 5 of my last 7 games have featured someone who has either raged and afk'd OR raged and intentionally fed. I realize people will say "well that happens just gotta get through it". I understand that. I am trying to get back to gold 3 this season as that is where I was last season. However in the past month and a half, I have been promoted to silver 2, a total of 4 or 5 times. Immediately after those 4 of 5 times I get matched with people who rage and afk or rage and intentionally feed, I'll go on a losing streak and get immediately demoted. The first few times I just figured "well that's league and gotta get through it and keep trying" but after 5 times of this happening and most recently 5 of my last 7 games, I decided to make a post. Five games where someone rages and goes afk, I'm gaining about 21-24LP per match and losing about 18-19 per match. That means when someone goes afks and loses us the match the possibility of gaining that LP is lost and the guarantee of losing LP is real.

Solutions?: I would like it very much that if someone rages and goes afk or intentionally feed a few things would happen:

  1. Do not ban their account from the game. Just ban them from playing ranked on that account for a brief period of time and if it continues permaban the account from ranked or just ban them altogether.
  2. Make it so people on those players teams, who do decide to rage for whatever reason, not lose LP or at least only lose half of the LP they were going to lose, so only 9 instead of 18 for example.

I understand I am not a great player by any means but I am trying to get better, have fun, and above all win the game. I cannot accomplish any of these 3 when people take the game into their own hands and do things like afk or intentionally feed. And now that this has been a pattern for me to see after every time I get promoted to silver 2, I feel like something needs to be done. I do not know if I am the only one that this is happening to but it has gotten extremely frustrating. I am tired of being a normal player that is trying to win, trying to improve, trying to have fun and it is all ruined multiple times in succession and habitually by the same type of player. I feel like we need a new approach on how we punish these players and additionally how we make the loss less impactful on others ranks who are trying to play the game.

AFK is already handled by the leavebuster.

Now I took a gander at your match history, and no one in your past 7 matches jump out at me as an intentional feeder.

I'm not claiming that you had no intentional feeders, but how do you expect a system to detect unobvious intentional feeders while still keeping people who just play poorly unbanned?

I 100% agree on this situation. People in low elo have too low of tempers and get mad for no reason and try to blame others before blaming themselves. Different the only thing I hate about league.

I made a thread like this but it got deleted with no warning or reason i had 3 feeders in 4 promo games yesterday, the last 1 actually saying it in chat, constantly communicating their position in all chat to feed even faster. that's so easy to check, just the chat, and their end score. and what bugs me atm is: not only i won;t get those promos back (it wouldn;t even be exploitable, u can see the whole team doing good and being friendly in chat and that 1 person fkin it up for everybody, and definitely NOT a friend throwing it when things are already bad so you can re-do a bad game...); but I reported them for all 3 games and not one dialog popped up for at least the last 1 that was inting clear as day!

man this shit sounds just like me. I got promoted to silver 2 like 4 times and once I hit s2 I got tons of trolls and shit in them every other game

I had an incident similar to this recently, albeit with over-the-top-careless feeders rather than AFKs or intentional feeders of the nature that you describe. In three nearly consecutive games, at least one of my teammates had mid-game score of 0/5/0 or worse (one of them actually ended the 28-minute game with a score of 0/13/0). My recommendation, though, would be to fix this through automatic detection and penalization, since giving out way more IP gains than IP losses (as your approach does) destabilizes the rank structure. To be honest, I'm surprised you haven't run into a problem with careless feeders (of the nature I described above). They're typically even more damaging than AFKs, since not only are they of no use to your team, they also give the enemy team tons of gold. Lol now I get a 10-game chat restriction for chat from 3 games because I told people to report the players who were afk or intentionally feeding. classic riot. god forbid anyone gets pissed over losing these games because people want to troll, afk, or intentionally feed. But for asking players to report them....i bet you the people who did the intentional feeding or who went afk won't get any punishment. Riot really seems to only care about things that happen in the chat. When in fact they can look at the chat to see someone saying they are intentionally feeding or going afk.

What percentage of riot has a tumblr page do you guys think?
