A change in personality

So I decided this season to be a very positive person. And I have to say it has definitely paid off. I win more of my games, even if I have a lousy score, because in the end when my team needs that extra person they thought they wouldn't have I come in and do a little bit to win the game. When people rage at me I calmly talk to them, and they just turn out in the end thinking "Damn, I'm an ass". II'm happier after a game. It's not about being a pushover or taking anything. I just stop rewarding abusive behavior. You can call it being a wimp, but let me know how manly you are with your nexus going down because you raged so hard three of your teammates disconnected. Anyway, that's just my social experiment.

Honestly for me it's like a switch. If I consistently stay neutral-positive I can keep the momentum of it going. There was a game where we were down to our nexus and they had all their towers and they got cocky and even though a couple of my teammates were tilted I just kept saying "It's alright guys, just enjoy the game for what it is" and another time I lost and one of my teammates was blaming the bot lane and I said "Well I messed up a few ults so I'm also at fault here" and it even got me a new friend because I was positive even after a loss.

Haha, I'm glad that works for you! I just get too worked up to be optimistic in losing games. x_x Haven't figured out how to fix that yet.

Focusing on my own mistakes helps. When I want to blame someone, I look at myself and realize it's on me.

Well like I get tilted by weird things, I lose a 1v1 against a Kat and instead of "better luck next time" I'm fuming on the inside because I forgot to use flash, or stopwatch, or that I'm just too dumb to play this game. XD The tilt is always alive inside of me.

A game is long. I've fed like hell before and come back later in the game, sometimes even getting a quadra kill or some crazy thing. Each play has the potential to bring you back into the game. Gold is important but when you add other factors in it isn't the judge and executioner of your game. Letting that mistake drill you however would be causing a loss.

But what if the guy doesnn't calm down?

There are 3 pills.

  1. Troll him
  2. Mute him 3 Insult him (Not recommended)

Choose whisly.

I don't do any of those yet. So far they haven't upset me, because I'm actively forcing myself to logically think about why they're mad at me in the first place.

Why did you create this thread? You want a medal? You want people to stroke your ego? You stopped typing mean words into a chat box in a video game, you didn't save a puppy from a burning building.

Nope! I just wanted to share my story in hopes that someone would be motivated to do the same! Have a fantastic day!
