Will I get banned if I go AFK in matches.

Will I get my account 14 day or permanently banned if I afk/ leave the game? Like, I join the game, hover, ban, go into champ select, pick, then I'm in the game, while I'm like 8 mins. in the match, and I afk, will I get banned? or if it's consistent and I afk like, EVERYAGAME, will I get banned? Or will I get just a timer? AGAIN no toxicity, I just got up and had to leave cuz, for an example, water got spilled on my keyboard, I afk/leave to fix it, and after that struggle of work, I come back, but only to forget I was in the match, watch YouTube for like, 3 hours let's just say, and then go back to league, will I get banned if I do this horrible pattern?

How on earth would you forget you were playing league? The screen is still right in front of you with league up on the screen.

on mac full screen doesn't show the bar at the bottom. looks much better.

I still don't understand how someone could forget that they are in a league match. Does this minimize league off of your screen? Are there screenshots of this somewhere?

I'm dead for 40 seconds.

I alt tab, I check my reddit inbox, ooo an interesting reply, it linked a youtube video, what's that, I've never seen this guy before, what an interesting video, let me reply to that original comment while I watch this, and then I'll check the front page, aww it's a baby tiger gif, how adorable

and suddenly, my screen shifts back as league closes itself, DEFEAT! oh right, I died earlier.

A person would have to be severely sleep deprived or high as fuck to completely forget like that. Whatever the case, that's not a state of mind someone should be playing league in, if they choose to do that repeatedly then they deserve the ban that's coming to them.

even you would have to understand getting up in the loading screen going to the kitchen and getting a drink when someone talks to you about whatever important thing. then go off make something to eat, go to the bathroom and watch a bit of tv. sadly this happened to me once. definitely not proud of that. it happens man out of the thousands of league games we played most of us have at least one accident on our parts.

I dont think it has ever happened to me when I was properly awake and in a state of mind where I was able to play.

I think it happened to me once in college, it was 3 AM I was sleep deprived from earlier in the week and I queued up for a game while literally fighting to keep my eyes open.

I have ADHD and that's how bad off I had to be to forget I was in a game. It just doesnt happen often. It's a super rare occurrence and people who do it consistently dont deserve to be playing league.

How? How are we supposed to know how? We aren't neurosurgeons or psychologists.

I have forgot that I started games numerous times >.> I still do. And I don't even minimize the game. It will be something simple like refreshing my drinks.

You are level 87, I highly doubt this.

If you do it consistently then you deserve the low priority queue that you get for it. When you queue up for a match you are committing your time to the 9 other players in your game. Leaving them to fight without you is a disservice and a disgrace.

AFKing (i.e. actually disconnecting from the game) is normally handled by LeaverBuster. If you do it frequently enough it's possible you might get a manual review of your account.

It's inconsistent. They do ban people for it, but it seems to happen more to people that receive public attention than regular players.

Honestly, it's not worth your time to sit through a 20 minute timeout just to afk after 8 minutes.

I've seen a case here where a frequent rage quitter got a 14-day ban after a manual review.

But keep in mind that he was a consistent rage quitter.

As far as I know, it's on a strike system. You get a few free chances aka strikes before you get into trouble for it, they have this in place in case of emergencies. But if you use up those chances (be it from emergencies or from just quitting) then the next time you do it you'll get busted by leaverbuster.

Don't waste your strikes on doing stupid things like rage-quitting. Because then if you have an emergency you will get leaverbustered anyways. And there ain't no defense to make there, because you are the one who used up your free chances already.

I think they look into it a bit, if you just randomly afk a single game I don't think they'll do anything. however if you were arguing with someone or died a few times and then afk'd you might get a warning or wherever you are on the punishment list.

To my knowledge, LeaveBuster handles AFK/Leave punishments and is separate from the IFS.

To my knowledge based on what I've seen from the forums, yes you can get temp banned for AFK/leaving. I have not seen a permaban thread for AFK/leaving but I would not be surprised if someone was permanently banned for AFK/leaving if they racked up enough leaves.
