Will I get banned if I go AFK in matches.

Will I get my account 14 day or permanently banned if I afk/ leave the game? Like, I join the game, hover, ban, go into champ select, pick, then I'm in the game, while I'm like 8 mins. in the match, and I afk, will I get banned? or if it's consistent and I afk like, EVERYAGAME, will I get banned? Or will I get just a timer? AGAIN no toxicity, I just got up and had to leave cuz, for an example, water got spilled on my keyboard, I afk/leave to fix it, and after that struggle of work, I come back, but only to forget I was in the match, watch YouTube for like, 3 hours let's just say, and then go back to league, will I get banned if I do this horrible pattern?

How on earth would you forget you were playing league? The screen is still right in front of you with league up on the screen.

AFKing (i.e. actually disconnecting from the game) is normally handled by LeaverBuster. If you do it frequently enough it's possible you might get a manual review of your account.

It's inconsistent. They do ban people for it, but it seems to happen more to people that receive public attention than regular players.

Honestly, it's not worth your time to sit through a 20 minute timeout just to afk after 8 minutes.

I think they look into it a bit, if you just randomly afk a single game I don't think they'll do anything. however if you were arguing with someone or died a few times and then afk'd you might get a warning or wherever you are on the punishment list.

To my knowledge, LeaveBuster handles AFK/Leave punishments and is separate from the IFS.

To my knowledge based on what I've seen from the forums, yes you can get temp banned for AFK/leaving. I have not seen a permaban thread for AFK/leaving but I would not be surprised if someone was permanently banned for AFK/leaving if they racked up enough leaves.

Afaik you get ramping queue penalties and other forms of game restrictions, but to my knowledge no full on bans.

I've seen a case here where a frequent rage quitter got a 14-day ban after a manual review.

But keep in mind that he was a consistent rage quitter.

As far as I know, it's on a strike system. You get a few free chances aka strikes before you get into trouble for it, they have this in place in case of emergencies. But if you use up those chances (be it from emergencies or from just quitting) then the next time you do it you'll get busted by leaverbuster.

Don't waste your strikes on doing stupid things like rage-quitting. Because then if you have an emergency you will get leaverbustered anyways. And there ain't no defense to make there, because you are the one who used up your free chances already.
