WHy do people think of this game as mortal kombat or some other fighting game?

I played a game today and it was where the enemy riven was vs a kayle and then that Riven was calling our kayle bad ... i explained this isnt a fighting game and mentioned Riven is a highly snowball champion and kayle really needs her items to do well and to scale well the kayle had to sacrifice a lot of CS and kept going B which i thought she did well until kayle lost so much CS and EXP to her that eventaully she became a free kill... now from my point of view (was support) Our jungler should have helped the kayle out in order for her to scale especially since riven was always pushed well seemed to be always at our kayles turret.. eventually my team flamed the kayle too and i felt really badly for her cos realistically she played so well until she lost so much CS and EXP .... if i was our jungler i would have helped her out rather than having my team just flame her ...... Like this isnt a game of who has better fighting skill some match ups have an advantage early or late and if you manage to win a disadvantage lane then well done but some matchups are really hard to win so it confused me why people think of league as a fighting game?
