most toxic thing in league

you cant leave.

just got out of a game that was 4-20 at 20 mins. my team wont surrender. one kid says "i never give up".

so now im trapped in this terrible experience for 20 or 30 more minutes. thats a pretty big chunk of my free time. and the other team is laughing and dancing around on our corpses. they dont want this game to ever end so they arent pushing.

10 mins later its 8-35. our nami wants to talk strategy - "we need to group up in mid. if we dont stay together they will keep picking us off". maybe she doesnt realize their yi is 16-1 and can 1v5 us, which he proves about 30 seconds later.

i try to reason with them - "can we please just ff? these guys were better than us at level 1. now they are like 20,000 gold ahead. how are we supposed to beat them?" oops! now my team informs me that im being toxic and i will be getting reported after the game.

finally the other team gets bored enough and ends at 42 mins. 12-51 "ggwp"

i have been told to kill myself and had people wish cancer on my entire family. i have played with feeders, ragers, noobs, and every type of troll. and this was much worse than any of that.

riot should do something. a mercy rule, replacement players, anything. being trapped and suffering for most of 42 minutes does not promote a positive attitude.

The amount of times we have overcame a stronger enemy because they played around, or we lost because we played around, mistakes happen all the time.

Its normals, why not just play it out till the end? I am one of those "never give up" players. I honestly hate wasting 20 minutes gaming to barely get started in the game, when all the really exciting stuff happens at minutes 30-40. You claim not worth it wasting 40 minutes in a game you do not think you will win. I claim its not worth wasting 20 minutes in two games (exluding time to queue, champ select, and log in) just to surrender at 20 minutes unless someone was actually needing to go.

You want mercy? Then do not leave the game. Mute the bad mouthers, if you do not say anything wrong, then it will show.

welcome to League of Legends, where being #heldhostage is policy. Doesn't matter how long it takes or how much the run up the score on you. Tryhard teammates can keep you there under threat of punishment no matter how hopeless it is.

I agree with OP. Being forced to wait 20 minutes, by Rito's design, in what is often a totally obvious lost match is annoying to begin with and is arguably toxic design. But then to subsequently be held hostage by teammates on threat of punishment to your account is purely toxic.

In my opinion there should not be a /ff option for a ranked game. There is ZERO reason to surrender a game. Absolutely anything can happen and it only takes 1 play to flip the odds. Take CLG vs TL game 3 (here is the game changing play https://youtu.be/2XsX4xLIgqk?t=44m15s ), TL was stomping CLG for 40 solid minutes, up 8k gold, 4 drakes, 2 barons and they got aced by CLG who then ran it down mid, dropped 4 turrets and won the game all within 35 seconds, after getting their asses kicked all up and down the rift. This, everyone, is why people who /ff games will NEVER be on the level of those players. Giving up before the game is over is like walking out on your college finals because the test was too hard.

If you aren't serious about winning and ranking up don't play ranked. If you are serious about winning explain why you think you can't turn any game around? Every single one of you has thrown a game at one point that you were 100% sure you'd win, theres no reason to think that won't happen to your opponents.

The game simply wouldn't work if one player was able to simply leave. That opens a whole new can of worms and toxicity.

If you can last 20-30 more minutes then the difference is not as great as you make it out to be. If they are not pushing to finish the match then it gives your team the opportunity to even the odds in late game or to push for the win by split pushing. A single split pusher that they don't give proper respect can take down an inhib and completely open up the map for his team, or even finish the game while they are stalled against the 4 remaining members.

However, this is just a generalization of possibilities; can't really make any assessment on your situation when you are not on the account you're talking about.

You can't find anything to do in a blowout loss? just go push a lane, farm some cs, try to find someone solo. whatever. I can usually find something fun to do while losing.
