Gaining Honor at End of Season

I have been trying to climb to platinum, and this is the first season I might make it. I am excited about the victorious skin too because I wasn't gold last season. I was chat restricted and honor reverted to zero based on one game where I had a teemo support admitting to inting in chat, the entire team flamed me and I responded "I can't do anything because I have a trash troll support", and two games before, our top admitted to running it down, and I said "Please stop or dc, this would be easier if you weren't in this game." after they were flaming the team. I admit that I should have just muted and kept my mouth shut, but this happened a week and a half ago and support said that it takes roughly a week and a half to two weeks to gain and honor checkpoint at the fastest. With 8 checkpoints to go, and 8 weeks left in the season, that makes it impossible to get back up to 2, get any rewards, etc, when almost every single game I see worse, from one side or the other. LONG STORY SHORT, for people that get notifications that you are honored 300% more than the average player, and typically very positively contribute to the community, but have 1 bad day, can riot make is a little easier to get back to honorable? Or just in general this late in the season? Not saying super easy, so people don't just flame badly then get back up in a week, but at least possible? I think playing 200 games over the course of 2 months should be more than enough to make up for two bad games and to show you are honorable (not saying that is the solution, but still)

Unfortunately, with the current system, you won't hit 2 before it ends. If it is a skin you want then just level a new 30 and get it on that 1, much faster and easier.

Yea, just can't risk any reports slowing the progress, but you should have about a week or 2 to spare.

Nice, this gives me hope.

Are you just speculating, or do you actually work with the honor system?

The trip to honorable varies a lot from what I've seen. We've had people on these boards claim 0 to 1 in like, 3 weeks, and I remember one person claiming 8 months at honor 0. Above and beyond, the biggest thing is not being validly reported. Getting honors helps, but being positive and not saying reportable stuff really helps a lot more.

I think that is ridiculous though. This is my account for 4 years, has all my skins on it, spent hundreds of hours this season climbing to get where I was, past day or two have got 5 3 honors and a 4 honor. I don't say negative stuff, was just a bad day, and seeing the other chat logs people post here, no where even near those... I feel like over a fifth of the season, someone should be able to make up for 40 minutes of barely toxic chat..

If that's the case you will climb quickly, no worries. It's a bit of a weird system, compared to previous years "if you were punished after August 22nd (last years date) then no rewards" but it is possible to climb out.

I think Riot should be more transparent about it. Even as an Honor 5 player, the progression is so hidden. Last year it was worse, but the checkpoints barely seem like anything, and give a whole ~100 BE and 2 key frags. wow

I'm hoping there will be more adjustments to honor next year, since barely anyone (even people who haven't gotten punished) like it very much. Like holy shit, I'm honor 5 and haven't gotten a key frag in a week. Why can't there be any notifications??? gahhh

For this year, though, nothing will change. You either have to play a lot and NOT CHAT/chat positively occasionally, or make a new account to get rewards on.
