Don't say GG at the end of the game.
Because whether you intended it in good will or not, you look like an ass to the enemy team, because I can tell you the enemy team most certainly did not have a good game. They had to suffer through 20mins of being handicapped, and probably died a lot because of it, and all in all the game was basically ruined for them.
It's called sportsmanship. When you lose badly in a sport, and they still shake hands and say good game, its not because it was a good, even game. The other team doesn't see you as an ass. And in my experience, most will say gg, sorry for the afk. I'm just not seeing an issue with it. But that's because I don't automatically assume someone is trying to be an ass.
Although 'gg' literally means 'good game', most people interpret it as 'thank you for playing a game with me'. In that sense, it's totally appropriate.
Saying GG is literally the most polite thing you can do.
How about we raise awareness for the real problem:
Either Stop using GG to mean "Oh my god the game is over mid just fed 2 kills" or "easy game LOL U GUYS SUK"
You're right. Everyone gets offended by different stuff, so we should be careful what we say in the end game lobby of any game, and especially in ones that were unfair to begin with. We don't want anyone to get triggered by our words! What some call sportsmanship might hurt others emotionally, and a lot of the people in this thread really need to consider that before being so judgmental.

I usually just say "gg, sorry about <insert champion missing>"
I prefer to go with "wp" in such scenarios... But neither me nor any of my friends take any offense whatsoever when somebody writes "gg" after a 4v5, so saying that you will look like an ass to the enemy team is a bit of a stretch. You will look like an ass to some people who don't understand (either by ignorance or by choice of intentional misunderstanding) that saying "gg" has become the equivalent of a handshake in e-sports.
