It is depressing to see supports are still being abused.

I can't believe it has to be explained multiple times, yet it seems to be an ever growing trend with this community. Let me set the scenario, this has not happened to me as I primarily main top, but I guarantee at least one or a bunch of you have experienced these scenarios, and I witnessed it before from ADCs on my team.

And ADC is about to die to another, the latter's support already slain. The former's support, thinking quickly, uses a CC ability to help their ADC get away and end up getting the kill, saving their ADC in the process. You would expect a thanks right? Nope. The ADC begins flaming in chat with,"Omg useless support KS, kys dude uninstall and kys."

The lack of gratitude is startling and overall disgusting. This is quite similar to saving some lady who's being chased by some guy with a knife, instead of a simple 'thank you', you get pepper sprayed in the face and kicked in the dick, pussy or whatever you attack helicopters have.

What I'm trying to say is, be more aware of how your supports are treated, prove WatchMojo wrong that this community can take a step in the right direction by showing gratitude to your supports. Hell, why stop at supports? Show gratitude to your team when they deserve it.

EDIT: Honestly, is someone just having it out for me in particular? I make a post that has a sting of truth to it and oh will you look at that? And instant downvote. You're only proving WatchMojo's point.

As a support main, I have to say that the way it is now is nothing compared to how bad it used to be for supports back in season 3-4. Sadly, there always seem to be players that do not understand that their deaths are not due to a misplay on the part of someone else on the team. Every death a player has is directly correlated to something that they specifically could have done differently. And blaming others is simply making excuses and not owning up to a mistake.

I'm sorry but I disagree. I have seen far more supports be complete jerks than I have ADCs. They usually sit back and complain about the team not dealing enough damage while they are not doing anything themselves and using the "I'm just support card therefore I can't do damage, CC, shield, heal" which is absolute granted.

I will say though that the rise in this is probably due to the fact that people are getting auto filled.

That's the exception, not the rule. In the many seasons i've been a support main, I rarely get a toxic adc to lane with. I either get neutral or honestly some very polite if not down right kind ones. Don't let a few spoiled apples ruin the whole bunch. Toxic players exist in all roles. Bot lane is a partnership, and when queuing up alone it's one taken with faith that two strangers can work together.

If a person is going to complain about a KS, it won't just be limited to supports. That's not a problem with supports being targeted, that's just a toxic person who'd complain about a ks from anyone.

Death threats aren't just targeted at supports.

Toxicity is the fault of the toxic player, and they aren't just maliciously targetting supports. One game, it might be the 0/10 Nami that gets flamed. Next, it's the 0/6 Draven, the 0/12 Lee Sin, etc.

My ADC linked a discord chat to the team with him and his premade. Nobody joined, and I wasn't going to either because I prefer my decision making to be mine and not influenced by others. But during the loading screen I decided to join for the hell of it. They didn't know I had joined. Now I know how the average player thinks.

Mid laner: "Hey Ekko is magic or AD?" ADC: "He's AP he's gonna hit you with spells you gotta watch out man" Mid laner: "Well good thing I picked Zed lol I'll just ult him" -after he goes 0/4 Me, in-game: Hey buy a Hexdrinker -totally ignored, 15 minutes later- ADC: Hey you should buy a hexdrinker Mid laner: Oh wow thanks bro that's good that's good

Our ADC, Jinx, would save his ult for his premade literally every single time. He'd also say thing like "Wow I got so fed im 1v2'ing bot lmao" or "Dude im solo'ing drag!! Im so good" even though I was right there next to him doing the majority of the damage until he had a few items. The mid laner who clearly was brand new to the game even had the nerve to say "Its up to me and you man we gotta carry nobody else is fed" even though mid was feeding and I had a perfect KDA of like 1/0/9.

It was one of the most frustrating things to hear, and this is how people actually think / play the game. This game really makes more sense to me now. With a perfect KDA I was totally invisible to my "carries." Imagine if I made a small mistake like the ones Jinx made? I promise they'd be flaming the hell out of me over their voice comms.

Ever since gold and higher... I have, what some would consider "KSing", in games as a support and the response I get is "GJ!" Assist gold is better than feeding the enemy team.

Zaryelle1/5/2017, 9:35:51 AM4 votes

When you dive to get that kill (and assist for your ADC) when they just can't reach it... -"ks" ":/" "why????" "troll support" -"are you a support or adc???" (when you are 3/0/15)

When you last hit minions when ADC is gone (or when you give them relic shield charges) -"quit taking cs nub, support doesnt need gold"

Only idiots don't realize that support actually helped them.

I hate players like that, and that'a the most of the community. I just stop saving that idiot and let him die. :)

The stronger supports become, the more they are flamed by their ADCs for not being able to prevent their stupidity with more tools.

As a support main, if I get the kill (unless I'm brand) I immediately apologize and explain my logic behind why I took it. I usually get a reasonable response like "all gd", or "its OK at least we got it, GJ." It's been a very long time since I've gotten attitude for getting a kill. So I don't know man, I just disagree with your whole premise that this happens all the time and supports are treated like shit. Maybe it's because I've improved or my ELO has gone up and more experienced players understand what has to be done and don't flame for it. Idk, but I just have been treated with surprising respect lately. When I was new, or even when I was playing for like a year but didn't main support, I got flamed a lot as support. That was a long time ago, though.

So maybe some supports suck and their adc is just looking for some mistake they can justifiably call them out for, even though imo, it's still not justified. So they're already losing lane, they want to catch up badly (adc is that role where it's really hard to catch up if you fall behind) and their chance at making a come back is taken by their support so they just snap. It's not okay, but it happens in different ways to every lane. Like if it was a mid laner, they'd just flame their jungler.

So overall, I think supports are not special. They get flamed like every other role. Idk why people think supports deserve special treatment just because it's a role that not a lot of people want to play. It's like they think they're doing their adc a favor by playing support and deserve to be treated with the utmost respect. Every role gets shit on in some way and if you're good at your role, you'll rarely get flamed. Also, just apologize when you get the kill secure... most people understand why you got it and are disarmed by your show of respect and awareness.

Sidenote: I've never heard of watchmojo... Idk why you're so concerned about what they have to say about it. Did they write an article about it through experience? Are they a well known source of League of Legends trends and issues? If not, fuck em. Who cares what they say.

The feels man. As a support main I agree, it does feel like getting kicked in the AMG-114 Hellfire missiles.

My sexual identification is 3 down far right. https://i.imgur.com/i0ejRDc.png

JK, I sexually identify as a Gem https://image.freepik.com/free-icon/diamond-outline_318-36534.jpg

Edit: Apparently people read Gem as something Steven Universe related. Never seen the show, just a Taric main.

As a support main myself, I shake my head each time I read these threads using the word "abuse". Otherwise I just agree with what Sheldonbunny said and similar posts. Also I still think junglers have to put up with much more shit.

Uhh what the hell is watchmojo's point? Like what what does a video channel have to do with this. Am I missing some big reference?
