What happened to chat restrictions?

Over the past couple of seasons I've had about 6 games in which I had outbursts of anger, all of them compiling up to three 14 day bans. The first ban did indeed deserve to get me punished for an instant 14 days. The other 2 were pretty surprising. I don't see myself as a constant toxic player, but there are games where I can't stop myself from just wanting to flame. After the first 14 day ban I turned off all-chat. I remember the second 14 day ban consisting of me being toxic in 3 or 4 games, ranging from 3 weeks apart of each other to just one day. The third 14 day ban was quite recent and it consisted of me flaming a teammate in a single game. Now, my point is why did Riot wait so long to punish me? I would honestly rather get a 100 game chat restriction after saying 1 swear word than randomly getting a 14 day ban. Also, why have I not been perma-banned? Not that I want to, but three 14 day bans seems much too lenient for how easily they dish them out to me.

Without seeing your logs it's hard to say, but my guess would be that your first punishment was either using hate speech, encouraging self-harm, or excessively toxic, all of which earn 14-day bans on the first offense.

The reason you keep getting 14-day bans is likely that your outbursts, while severe, are very uncommon and have since been zero-tolerance offense free, and you keep managing to recover some of your account's standing since the last punishment, so you get normally escalated to a 14-day ban and then recover it before the next punishment, never quite enough to drop into Chat Restriction territory again.

Chat restrictions are for minor things now like arguing with your team. Anything more severe is grounds for a 2 week ban.
