Why the mute button is such a good thing (plus a lil mention of a toxic player)

Lately my mute button has been broken and I never realised how much it really effects my gameplay, I started using it a lot lately and my score started improving by LEAGUES, untill recently when after the day we couldn't log in my mute button stopped working in some matches, I have tried reinstalling and deleting all league related files but it still doesn't work. During matches where it doesn't work it effects my score big time.

A good example is my last ranked match, there was a player by the name {EDIT:REMOVED NAME}, he started harassing me in chat pretty early so I tried muting him, it didn't work. I could still what he says and pings, and he kept going all game, I couldn't mute him or anything, I TRIED ignoring him but he was quite nasty. He kept going on and on. I learned quite early in my league history that being toxic helps noone, not you or your team and banning is the right punishment, it really teaches you not to be toxic.

But with the new report system innocent people are getting punished and toxic people are getting away with being quite nasty. I sometimes and a lil toxic I will admit it myself and I punish myself for it but it is people like the player in my last game that the mute button exists.

Start using the mute button and you will see that your games will improve.

Toxicity helps noone. Janna (Except Singed Singed )

Edit:Removed name (was the jhin though)

Now if we could only mute the worst toxicity of them all, AFK's and DC's and keep them from ruining so many games.

You should still be able to mute people by typing /mute @(champname) or /mute summoner_name

EX:

/mute @janna

/mute yoloswag2999

Tried going to settings and doing a "initiate full repair"?

To be honest though, i have rarely found cases that was not justified when people post their chat logs. Innocent people are punished simply because they got aggrevated and taunted into replying to the troll. It does not matter if you were taunted into it or not.... you spewing toxicity to a toxic player does not make it right.

But yes, muting and ignoring toxic players does wonders for the mentality of the player, allowing them to focus on their own playing and get better as a result. Music i find also helps, i put on some music while playing and just play.

You're not allowed to post names, it's called name and shame and you can get in trouble for it here. Regardless of what the person did.
