SO... Riot, How about a little explanation to all of us who feel cheated.
Like the title says,
we have been dozens if not hundreds to e-mail support, post on your boards and other boards about your decision to put through this massive ban wave, which most of us seem to find unjustified.
How about you guys put your big boy pants on and explain what is going on to your community.
Yes, every time there are ban waves, people go out and complain. Yes, some people cry wolf but have indeed committed ban-able actions. But in this case, I really think you guys made an honest mistake. There can't be that many people lying about their actions.
Oh and one other thing, how do you guys feel about punishing people that can't even know themselves wether or not they are doing something wrong.
What you guys are doing is kind of like having a police officer pull you over for speeding. Officer: "Sir you will get a ticket because you were speeding" Driver: "But there are no speed limits signs anywhere" Officer: "You were speeding, so I have to give you a ticket" Driver: "Yes but how do you know I was speeding" Officer: "I won't be able to go into the specifics of that speeding abuse, as divulging this information could compromise future investigations."
Now if Riot was truly protecting it's players, specifics would be given or at least a warning so that people can figure out what they are doing wrong so that this permanent ban doesn't happen.
I mean come on, we ALL AGREE that scripts, hacks, exploits should be permanently banned and without any chances. But unauthorized third-party programs!?!? In so many cases people did nothing wrong, they might stream with applications, they may have windows processes running without them even knowing, video card processes etc... We don't know what is the culprit because you won't tell us. You are promoting a chain of wild guesses and possibly wrong informations
This feels like playing Russian roulette to me!
So about you give us some explanations? If you can't, then how about you realize you made a huge blunder... How about you un-ban peoples accounts and do this the right way next time. The right way being, informing people about the specifics of what can and can't be used and then when is kind of on the line or things change then maybe give people a warning before drastically throwing down the Permanent Ban Hammer.
My 2 cents Wobus
