Account got 14-day suspension, no email sent
I checked my email after I received a notice that my account had been suspended till the 21st this month, but I saw nothing regarding it, in any folder whatsoever. Sure I'm a little bit unnerved since 14-day bans are the biggest step towards a Permaban and I've invested a lot of money into this account, but it came as a bit of a shock. I don't know what I did and I'd like some more information regarding it. If a rioter sees this, please help me out here.
To iterate what I checked, I checked all prior emails tied to this account, I checked the match history for evidence of games I did not recall playing, etc. and nothing seemed out of place.
EDIT #1: I took the liberty prior to some of the comments here and sent a ticket to Riot Player Support. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a positive experience. (Here's to hoping.)
EDIT #2: Ok, this is a bit more context from my memory. Prior to this, I was having some major issues with the client which resulted in a lot of LeaverBuster penalties due to the fact that my internet kept kicking me out and my client refused to stay online for longer than 10 seconds in-game. I've had two or three days without this happening and I cleared my penalties on the client and haven't left any more games after that (intentionally or not).
EDIT #3: A Riot Player Support member did respond to me, and he informed me that the account had a hefty record of extremely toxic behavior over a short period of time, which I can equate to a short window of errors where I got repeatedly slammed by LeaverBuster due to a combined Graphics Card driver error, corrupted Client files post-6.13/.14 patch (can't remember which was the most recent, but I think it was 6.14), and a sub-par delivery from my ISP (basically they let our apartment complex's internet service go to crap); this created a perfect storm where I just got repeatedly kicked from games (and I tried sometimes 20 times to reconnect and rejoin the fight but I wasn't allowed to by my own technology). Shame that I might not get the ban wiped from my record, and I wish I had thought to try and repair the client after it happened 4 times in a row in one evening over a period of 3 hours. (To be fair, most of the times it happened, I was queue'd up either solo or with friends, and some of them sat through that 20 minute wait timer I got slammed with only to have me DC due to tech errors. They still persist in being my friends through all this and all of this just made me feel horrible.)
Riot, I would urge you guys to consider how hefty the LeaverBuster penalties are and how liberal the system is in giving them to players. I understand you want to discourage people from leaving but at the same time, the system could be less lenient to those who are not actively dc'ing and are suffering from tech errors. We're not all tech-savvy, so the least you could do for those unfortunate summoners is make it less painful.
EDIT #4: It's been a day since the banhammer came down and still no email from Riot Games. I'm starting to think that email won't come and the only thing submitting a support ticket did was give me a really vague answer. Riot, if this is how you intend to treat customers who inquire about bans they receive on their accounts (The whole no email like your client says you have done, and no direct answers beyond vague comments on support tickets), I for one will actively discourage players from joining your game and will only log on to play with friends on maybe a weekly basis, simply because I value my friends more than you value your customers. I've been playing this game for 2+ years now, and my last bans were 1-3 days for massive AFKs, which I have made attempts to reform from. Get your stuff together, for reals. (IN CASE NO ONE IS AWARE OF THIS, those 1-3 day bans happened a year ago when I took my account from one server to another and played on the EUW server.
EDIT #5: This will be the final edit and probably the last time I ever comment on this post. I am flat-out dumbfounded that Riot is going full-Club Penguin on the chat, and to be honest, it saddens me. They tell me my account is one step away from a permaban (they completely skipped the week ban and just went straight to "final warning bud"). I'll post something else in a different section but this is it, ladies and gentleman. That's the full story. They didn't like my chat, so they hit me hard. Turns out some guy in the lobby was correct.
