Well clearly you do want it or it wouldn't piss you off that you didn't get it. Also, I don't like it when toxic people talk for me, I do want this system and I don't think it is horrible nor do I think it is garbage.
Remember all those posts where someone who was banned/punished pleaded that Riot include some sort of incentive for them to behave well?
Yet every time Riot does that (Ranked Season rewards, Hextech crafting, etc), suddenly it's "horrible" and "garbage" that Riot provided an incentive to behave well.

This attitude is why you don't get Loot, but you know what is even better.
If players would stop Locking the champions they like to play every frigging game in a row and actually pay attention to the champions on their team and what is being played then perhaps players would win more games and have a less toxic experience.
I actually out of like 6 games only got one game today where players did this its insane, so instead of locking 
every single game and being a useless scrub go

Hextech Chests and crafting are a system designed to reward players. If you don't follow the rules, then why would Riot reward you? Just for being good at the game, but ruining everyone else's experience in some way?
