Is this the story of the broken pencil?

Dont worry, riot has stated that as Long as you are genuinely trying to win, they will not punish players for the champs they choose or the items they build. A player wont be punished because YOU (general/plural. not specific) dont like the champ a player chooses, or they build how you (Plural) want them to.

If you don't want to play support, don't play support. Don't pick support as your role and pick a champ without any support ability and then expect people to worship at your feet.

You can pick whatever you want - reports in that matter wont do anything. Why do I know this ? I got about 1k AP Shaco games - I won arround 50-55% of those but I'm sure I got atleast one report in almost every game I lost with him (because obviously every lose is just because of the off meta pick, that's the only option). So let's say I got arround 400 reported games just for playing an off meta pick - I never got a warning or anything similar.

[Not to mention that I usually play off meta, so yeah]

However, if you got assigned to your role - beheave in your given role.

If you got support and pick, let's say Anivia (even though I don't know if that would go well), you have to play like a support. Help your adc to get fed, protect him and don't take his cs.

You can make many champs work as supporters, especially tanks and burst mages, however you should always ask yourself "Can this champion have a supportive value for my team or would another champion do better"

Some champions simply don't work as supporters - and at this point you're not being any help for your team and they have the full right to be mad at you.

Nothing beats the feeling of losing time and progress. That much is true when a team fight happens and they realize that no one can protect their Marksmen or help save a dying ally if they only had some sort of sustain from a Support champion.

The meta exists for a reason, it is so that the game can actually work. If you want to be an off meta Support, you should queue or at least communicate with your lane. If I lock in immediately ADC Ivern, would you not be tempted to report me? I'll even say you "suck so bad at the game you think an ADC pick matters"

Of course I am not discouraging you from playing the way you enjoy the game and to be creative. However, if it disrupts communication and composition, then should girdle up your loins and not do it. This is a team game. If you do not think that, then it is you who are bad at the game.

it makes a difference on how well the game goes.

recently I've just started asking to switch when the supp picks a troll supp, and if no one does then I won't bring a marksman.

it doesn't matter play whatever you want

i queue jg/sup, i play shaco in both jg and support, and if banned by my own team i go karthus in either
