Telling a player to "kill theirselves" should automatically trigger a permaban. Period.

It shouldn't be "Oh, if he continues to show unsportsmanlike like behavior, he'll get a 10 game chat restriction, which may I add, you are able to type once per 3 minutes." It should just be a permaban, straight up. Suicide is no laughing matter and you never know how that players life is. They could be going on League to cool off after a stressful day, or may use League as a way to cope with depression. Honest to fucking god, as a guy who's dealt with suicide within my family and through friends, just seeing that in my game's straight up pisses me off. They're literally telling someone else to "end their life", as in, no longer a part of this world, because they didn't follow their instructions.

Those who downvote this thread need to seek mental help because you might consist of sadistic traits. In no way can you argue against my point.

As far as I'm aware, it earns them a 14 day ban on the spot. That's on par with other no tolerance phrases, allowing those misguided enough one chance to change, and that seems fair to me.

oh no, in my rush to get back to playing the game, I typed "lucky star" as "luc kys tar"!

Now I'm perma'd with no warning, and I have to redo the ~5 years of progress I've made playing on this account if I ever want to play again

look, I realize that telling people to kill themselves isn't okay, and while I would hesitate to say the same about doing so in a joking context, especially among friends, I can see why one might think that is also not okay. But automated permabans in any form are a terrible idea, especially so when implemented as a "no-tolerance, no-warning" kind of system. There are just going to be cases where someone accidentally triggers the system, and given that a permaban is the harshest punishment a player can get, that's just not okay. Permabans are something that need to be done by hand and reviewed on a case by case basis. And yes, people should get warnings.

use league as a way to cope with depression

mistake #1

League causes depression.

I rather league community be free to say whatever then everyone will learn that mute is possible and should take responsibility for their own tilt

We already have a lot of threads on this.

And, yes, it is punishable already.

This last bit of your post does...So, so much against your argument. For one, you steer from talking about the punishment system to making your post about your downvotes with it. Second, you pretty much convince anyone who reads it that you think you're irrefutably right, no matter what is said, and that anyone who disagrees with you is wrong and possibly sadistic.

Even more, it tells us that you think that anyone who doesn't readily conform to your mindset is somehow mentally unstable and needs to get help.

If you want to talk about the punishment system and the severity of punishment, do so - but don't make your post about downvotes or call people mentally unwell for disagreeing with you.
