No name and shame

Someone just pin a No name and shame up at the top of player behavior in big letters. Universal Rules isn't sexy enough to get views.

It's like the number 1 boards violation and most often is totally accidental.

We were hoping the Boards User's Guide on the side-bar would give enough visibility (it's in part 3: Reporting in-game Offenses ). Most name & shame offenses are from first time posters that don't take the time to read a single rule or sticky posts, honestly.

I think when someone clicks on player behavior to post there should be a short and efficient bold, red-lettered indicator that says not to include summoner names in behavior topics.

"Do not identify players by their summoner name" in bold red letters would be sufficient and short enough so that people would be able to quickly post their topic even without reading the fine print. It would only appear in player behavior so as to not confuse other categories.

Having summoner names in the post is not strictly against the rules, however. The old moderation staff had a pretty rigid approach and had to action on all of them, but now we can allow discussions that do have names if it's constructive and the point is to discuss a topic using the image/link as context, rather than sharing it to shame or report them (this is also in Part 3 of the guide series).

Taking care of name & shame posts does make up a lot of our PB actions, but we don't want that to get in the way of you guys having legitimate discussions.

I think DTN was smiting me for posting on the wrong board, though I figured putting it i the board it was associated with would be better for overall viewership.
