PSA: The Attitude of the LoL Community is Terrible

Recently I have started playing Ranked matches seriously. I haven't even finished placements and I'm getting tired of it. So far, everyone is considerably more critical of your mistakes, which is fine, but they're also really toxic. I'm not going to deny that I'm incredibly mediocre at the game at best, but my teammates have been incredibly toxic. One game, someone was calling gg before the first wave even hit. I mean, you can partially attribute this to the meta's state, but that's just ridiculous, seeing as nobody was trolling and our team comp wasn't that atrocious. People are constantly calling you trash, whereas they should be more supportive of the newer player's mistakes. Anyways, I'm going to play a little more to see if it gets any better at all, or else I might just go back to Blind Pick or even quit the game. They hit you, you turn your other cheek, they hit you again, and the cycle continues. There would be so much more that I could do if I didn't spend an hour or two getting flamed by the most idiotic and hopeless scumbags to ever grace the planet with their existence while enjoying the grey-scale filter on your monitor. The great irony of this is that all of these god-tier Bronze legends would have the same thing being said to them if they were in a game with a bunch of Diamond or Gold players.

tl;dr: Please just be more supportive of the newer players, even if they do make more mistakes than you'd like them to.

having just finished my placements, i find this statement to be very true. ranked is a horrible dank dark depressing little hole in which the worst of people come out from, when it comes to league of legends normal matches draft to blind are for the most part alright. someone might call out on your mistake you might fight about it and shake hands afterwords. ranked? ranked is a whole nother beast, not playing the way someone likes? "your trash." not calling out your lane because you are trying to focus on wave clear to save your tower? "you're garbage." not coming to a teammates ping even though they rushed into something like the enemy jungle and are not being 2 or 3 v 1? "you're a idiot" you want to group together while someone is having a bad time and has a stick up the bum? "i'm not grouping with him they're noobs."

this pretty much sums up my ranked experience, including someone telling me to not even bother finishing my last 2 placement games. yeah i'll admit i'm not the best at the game, but give me a team that wants to work together and knows to be supportive and we could probably pull off a great victory. sadly the ranked community is not all like that and more often then not you are going to run into people who want to be nothing but complete assholes. which is why i often tell players who play like normal draft is ranked to take their shit to ranked. but i suppose that they trained themselves to be in that mind set 24/7 after being placed i stopped playing ranked. i was a shaking mess and considering that i've already got enough stressing me out i didn't need to try to climb the ranked ladder and have that stressing me out as well.

no problem, i'm glad i could offer up my thoughts on the matter. anyone who has played ranked will have seen this multiple times, though sometimes they just numb themselves to the concept and act like it's fine.

the problem with rank is players like you who join rank with very low skill which will lead to the worst outcome possible, since your lack of skill will affect rest of your team negatively on many aspect. that's a game design problem that riot skipped with a crappy ranked requirement ( not really your fault). all the communication and teamwork in the world won't improve your skill it will only mitigate the negative impact.

thats why i don't play ranked, most of the time I can ignore toxicity and stay positive, but when a whole entire team flames you...
