Was this the right decision?

Couple minutes ago I left a game...

I was playing blind pick and we picked our roles Top, Mid, Adc were taken. I said fill in chat and waited, we had a blitzcrank with smite which said nothing in chat, he didn't lock in yet. So I decided to call Support and picked nami. ( Didn't lock in yet ) Then our blitz decided to tell me in the last 5 seconds that he was the support... I already had Flash + Exhaust and My ap runes + Nami masteries. So I panicked and switched to pantheon. Then the game started and I was gonna be Pantheon ( jungle? ) With no Smite, Nami masteries, and my ap rune page.

I decided to say nothing in chat, buy nothing, didn't move and left the game. So they could be able to remake and would not have to deal with ehm.. me and my terrible build

Now my question is: Did I do something terrible in this situation or did I do the right thing? Will they be able to remake?

Note that my computer is now the fastest thing on this planet and I'm kinda lagging in champ select. so I could not have made it in time :/

While I would never advocate leaving games, I do think this is better than going in with a completely sub-optimal setup, especially for jungle. If you were top lane, you might have been able to make it work, but your jungle clear without smite and with support runes would have been abysmal.

So as long as you're willing to accept taking the loss for the game and any possible penalty for leaving the game, this is probably better than making your team wait for a likely 20-minute surrender. However, if you're in the same situation again, a queue dodge is probably the best option.

yes and no

why?...

No it is not the right choice because I have done the same thing like you.... for example I have forgotten smite and/or had the wrong runes during a game, and Im pretty sure I have won a few of those games.

Yeah you and your team are at a disadvantage but there is always hope... you never know the enemy team could of had an 2 afks, or you could of had a player on your team having a great day and going 20-0-20 or some crazy shit happen **where you **went AP pan and dominated... trust me I have played AP pan as a joke before, that ulti and w is OP.

seems to me like your having regrets for leaving, and thats normal... it means your not a dick :P

... yes its the right choice if you are prepared for any of the consequences(teammates playing 4v5/you geting 20min leaver/ectect)

edit: dont let anyone tell you leaving a game is the worst thing in the league world, any real LoL player has rage quit at least once in his life, let alone left because of a legit reason such as he/she had the wrong runes or no smite.
