As someone trying to level another account to play with a friend.

The flame and toxicity is insane. You legit get new players trying to figure the game out. Yes, they are bad but rightfully so. They also get flamed beyond believe. We're talking level 10-15 games on the rift and I'm already seeing people say things like "kill yourself", "uninstall your life", "hang yourself", " "I hope your mom gets cancer", " I hope your mom gets raped by big black dicks." ALL this in the just the few summoner's rift games I have played. I could not imagine continuing to play this game if I were an actual new player. It is actually insane.

Whats even worse is that riot is too slow to react to early leveling toxicity. Hell, the toxicity in normals is terrible right now, and got worse with the honor update.

Example: I played a game just a few minutes ago where I was auto filled Bot, so I was playing xayah to try and get better at her.. well, the entire game the enemy team did nothing but curse at me in chat, constant 5 man bot and just being general assholes... which caused me to actually break my cool (didn't matter cause no one honors anyone in normals it seems even being the nicest and most helpful person in a loss) .

I personally think that riot isn't hitting toxicity where it will cause the player base to change. Hell, the honor system is a step in the right direction but it needs more work. First off: not even a simple pop up when you're halfway to the next honor rank is dumb. It's obvious a pure punishment system like they have now isn't working, so something like a "keep it up" that's more than just "oh look, HERE's some key fragments for something random in the chests" because tbh if you are going to reset honor every season like you do chests, then level 2 needs to either be fast tracked to either level 1 (if you're a total clock waffle EVERY game) or level 3 (where you're more positive than negative) and make the rewards better than just "here's key fragments!" note: from what you have hinted at, Grey ww and the other skin not only isn't enough incentive to keep playing, or too high for even the nicest person to achieve in a given season

Riot, i think the community as a whole NEEDS some form of an update on "this is what we're doing for toxicity etc" like you do on champion updates. well, other than the laziness that is taking forever on cho gath nerfs.. cause honestly 2k true damage is NOT ok with just Cinderhulk, stoneplate and Warmogs...

I really like this game, but I hate it how that I get on a normal to either practice a champion or to have a relaxing game and then get triggered because people are super toxic because they can be.

most low level players are people who got banned for toxicity. so it has become the worst place in the game.

sad for actual new players yes.

I made an alt account to play and learn roles/champs i suck at. Flame and overal behavior is so bad i just stopped at lvl 11

Fun fact: New players and "not new players" or "smurfs" get seperated in first 3-5 PvP games. Most likely you're stuck with punch of bronze-silver kids leveling new accounts after being perma banned.

As a Toxic person in chat (Never say kill yourself or hope death on anyone this is way overboard) I feel like it's dumb to rage at people under lvl 30 because they are obviously new and learning, what I get piss at is actually at Riot games match making system because some times they put players under level 30 with players who are veteran level 30 even some who are Gold/Plat/Diamond tier players which is beyond stupid. I'd rather wait over 8 minute to be fairly match and balanced out rather then play with player who aren't level 30 yet vsing enemy that are platinum tier, I bet all players under level 30 wants this too to be fairly match and not vs a diamond.

There is also a dumb part where if you are level 28 the match making think it's balance to put a level 20 on the other side and call it balance because they are both under level 30.....

Well what do you know? The community's toxic. Now that we've got that out of the way, if you're truly concerned about a player or a group of players being flamed and you want to do your part, then kindly inform them that there are options to disable all chat and to enable a chat filter in the settings. Other than that, toxicity is nothing new in League. It's been here since the beginning and always will be until the end of the game's life cycle. People are shitty existences and that's just the way it is man.

Leetri7/25/2017, 5:30:27 AM1 votes

Pretty sure the system detects you're a smurf pretty quickly and puts you with other smurfs, and a lot of smurfs are people who got banned on their main account for being toxic.

Solavis7/25/2017, 8:22:17 AM1 votes

If I didn't have a group of friends to play with, I probably never would have even made it to lvl 30. soloq is extremely toxic, especially at low levels and low elo. I couldn't imagine picking this game up for the first time alone and sticking with it.

/mute all works wonders also, find someone to duo with and level together, makes the experience much nicer

I only got one of these on bot once, never in pvp and I'm only three weeks new. Am I playing this game wrong?

Yes I am doing the level up thing now and I can confirm in term of toxicity I think it's worst than ranked games and after Level 30 games. I guess its because players they get banned make new accounts and they don't care if their level 15 account gets banned. I always mute everyone and block all chat this makes the game more enjoyable.

Kloqdq7/25/2017, 2:29:41 PM1 votes

Man I try and offer helpful advice. Had a Sivir building AP and I helped teach him what he should build and focus on. I want the future players to not be bronze 5 thank you.

TheDonar7/25/2017, 2:40:58 PM1 votes

Rito just needs to really push the existence of /mute all more. It is a major QOL improvement.

The instant someone starts in with nonsense, I simply state "muting all now" so my team knows I can't read chat from them and have fun the rest of the game.

Pings are enough to get by.

Cornerstone17/25/2017, 2:46:26 PM1 votes

Perhaps pre level 30, RIOT needs to have a much closer to zero tolerance of rude people. This would weed out the banned players starting new accounts faster. They probably need closer to zero tolerance at all levels actually. They wait for TOO many occurrences before taking actions.

andrew95147/26/2017, 12:13:54 AM1 votes

I think the new player experience is terrible currently and I wish riot did something to smooth their introductions to the game. Better bots and better handling of punishments could help to retain future posible concurrent players. Some of my friends used to play lol but they stopped because they got tired of getting blasted every game. /Mute all exists but having to use it after someone has gone hostile is still a unsavory experience.

Terozu7/26/2017, 2:23:40 AM1 votes

Its ur fault, the system knows youre smurfing so its puttibg you guys with smurfs, not new players

Firewood Kit7/26/2017, 4:03:16 AM1 votes

Really wish they could divide the nice ones from the toxic ones... No ban no suspend, just let me with peaceful and nice people.

Seriously, just abuse your mute button. You can even mute pings now. Riot's stance and approach DOES remove trolls, but lets be real there are tons of em. A lot of them are kids. Picture that typical, annoying 12 year old voice you hear on Overwatch/COD screaming at the mic just in your chat box.

The mute denies them fuel. If they call you shit biscuit mcgee 7 times and you don't respond (cuz they're muted) they eventually stop. Now imagine if the 90% norm was don't even respond, just mute. Nicer community

Doesn't cure inting, role stealing, etc but if you love the game, Mute is your friend and the New Players' friend too. GL

boys and ranking just gives them a big mouth, human nature right here... sad but you can't ask humanity to change or can you?

themachamp7/25/2017, 3:33:51 AM1 votes

What do you expect to happen when riot permabans players( or even a 14 day ban)? You force them to make new accounts and be paired with newer players.

Jayce Top7/25/2017, 3:40:28 AM1 votes

Well most new players are from Perma-Banned accounts. And each account that gets perma banned just makes that person more toxic.
