How to turn chat off?

Aside from hitting the Tab key and muting everyone, where is the command to turn chat off? I don't see one in the interface during a game or outside it.

MUTE COMMANDS **/mute summoner name ** - mute a single player eg. /mute StigtriX /mute all - mute every player in a match for the duration of the match.

IGNORE COMMAND /ignore summoner name - puts a player on your ignore list, ignoring all chat from them until you remove them from the list.

I think the idea behind making the commands less accessible is that Riot wants to promote cooperation through the chat, and keep chat restriction mainly for the ones who do not use it for anything positive, forcing them to rely on pings only. There are a lot of things that can be written more clearly than what one can achieve with pings alone. Planning when and how to deal with objectives like Rift Herald, Dragon and Baron is better with text, in my opinion. You can also clarify how many are coming towards a lane or object too, making desicion-making easier for the team.

**EDIT: **edited after TAZZY DA DEVIL's feedback - thanks! :)

Ah, thanks.

Naturally, a game like League requires communication. I just couldn't find the command anywhere. And there were a lot of people that night that necessitated chat being turned off.
