Suggestion/Discuss: Won't removing All Chat reduce toxic behaviour?

After playing Paragon, I've realised that toxic behaviour is not as big there (yet). Not as many people play it as League probably.

But one thing I noticed was that you can't write to the enemy team, and in my opinion, that takes away a big power of being toxic. I had one game in Paragon where someone raged a lot, but none of us other 4 on the team were responding, so he gradually just went quiet cause he had no one else to complain to.

Now in League, if being toxic doesn't give a reaction from your team, people tend to write in all chat to complain. This then makes the teammates respond cause the toxic person might spread lies saying that their teammates are toxic etc and should get reported. Teammates then try to defend themselves so they dont get falsely reported in fear of being punished. Then the all chat fiasco happens where everyone write stuff to vent or to defend or to attack, etc etc etc.

So my question is to you and to Riot is: Won't just removing all chat help reduce toxic behaviour?

In my opinion, all chat let's ragers vent their frustration to an enemy team who has no idea what has been said in teamchat, so the rager tries to get them on their side to ask for reports or just to complain. I could do without all chat if it reduced toxic behaviour.

Yes and no. You have the option to remove all chat in the oprion in game. But i have always been against the feature to begin with.

I literally have no reason to ever hear anything or be talking to the enemy team for any reason at all, ever. Anything that needs to be said be it trash talk or compliments can be said AFTER the game is done.

Most of the toxic chat I have seen comes from teammates raging against each other.

Very few instances in this forum have I seen people talking about the enemy teammate. I can distinctly remember 3 instances where an opponent was using racial slurs, homophobic language, and saying awful things to try and get under my skin and I just muted them and reported it afterwards. Honestly it made me laugh and smile a bit because I knew they had become tilted so much that they were resorting to hate speech to try and tilt me.

I actually use all chat in game to just chat with the enemy team and make awful league puns and get laughs out of them and usually they join in with the puns and it makes the game light hearted.

I rarely have an issue with /all chat though, it's almost always teammates being toxic to each other.

Edit: I will also add, that I don't consider trash talk toxic. I consider trash talk between opposing teams normal behavior in a competitive environment. So maybe this colors my perspective. Now, negative behavior of any kind between teammates I find boring, wasteful and counter-productive.

But this is a multiplayer game and interacting with other people is part of the experience. Or do you want a "club penguin" safe chat with premade words? I sure as hell dont

Most of it is from the team you're in. The HotS crowd that refuses to accept any criticism for their perfect game always seem to miss that point when they go on about there being no all chat and junk.

No, because most of the flame comes from your own teammates
