The Reform Is Unprofessional Riot

Seriously Yes I Get It Riot! But No It Is Wrong!

I got a chat ban last month and the day I got it I finished it then I got ddossed for the whole of last month. And when I finally got back few weeks ago and yeah got that free chest. But then after a couple matches I see I am ineligible to get anything. Then I looked to see how long that is and that even for a chat ban it is 3 Months. Seriously that is unfair it would be only fair if you got a 14 day ban that makes more sense. But no a chat ban for having a bad day I have to be a perfect boy to wait 3 months. Seriously a chat ban should be 4 weeks. If you want to lower toxicity do not let it be 3 months for just having a bad day. Or how about make it that if you get chat banned or low priority make it that those people play U.R.F matches cause that will calm the people down.

You were getting DDOSed for a month and you didn't do anything about it? I find that really hard to believe.

Also, to anyone and everyone

Learn about your router - disable ssh, disable telnet (common default enabled), disable readyshare (netgear port 22)

Learn about IP subnetting - CHANGE YOUR LOCAL IP SCHEME 10.x.x.x? 172.x.x.x? 192.x.x.x? CHANGE IT. quick lesson on subnets.... 255=must have this number so 192.168.0.1 with a subnet of 255.255.0.0 MEANS your host/clients (your laptop, phone etc.) will start with 192.168. 255.255.0.0 is also called /16 (because each quadrant takes 8 bits....255=11111111)

THIS MEANS, a /16 will allow 65,534 host connections doesnt that sound like a wide open door??????

also... CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD...... how hard is it to guess "password" for a password on a router? you might have a fancy default password, change it anyways....

Sum up of a very simple solution (not the best!)

ISP box connected to Router (use NAT if you can)

ISP change local addressing IP to anything change subnet to 255.255.255.252 (allowing 2 hosts) change default password Disable DHCP -> input IP address manually for router to allowed MAC Disable wireless broadcasting Close unnecessary ports (SSH, Telnet) Hardline to Router

Router input allocated IP address used on ISP allowed MAC table change default password

I personally don't find it acceptable to go so low as to mutter something worthy of report, even if I am having a bad day. Now don't think I'm just judging you while sitting on my throne of lies and hypocrisy, I have had some horribly atrocious ranked games recently where everyone was either feeding, doing poorly in lane, or just down right being toxic. I simply held my tongue even though I really REALLY wanted to say something. And if all else fails, I would recommend muting those players in an effort to keep yourself from getting in trouble.

I'm just throwing in my nomenclature rant

DDoS Distributed Denial of Service attack ~ Facilitates the use of many botnets/zombies to attack one target

DoS Denial of Service attack ~ single person flooding ports

why does everyone say DDoS? lolololol

it's unlikely to be 3 months. It depends on your behavior. If you behave it will probably be shorter, if you dont you'll probably get a 2 week ban and it will be longer.
