The Summoner's Code | League of Legends

Link for reference, and tl;dr version right below

> 1. Support Your Team > 2. Drive Constructive Feedback > 3. Facilitate Civil Discussion > 4. Enjoy Yourself, but not at Anyone Else's Expense > 5. Build Relationships > 6. Show Humility in Victory, and Grace in Defeat > 7. Be Resolute, not Indignant > 8. Leave No Newbie Behind! > 9. Lead by Example

Does anyone actually follow these? I mean, most of us probably follow these unintentionally, but I think the summoner's code is too difficult to find for new League players.

I think the summoner's code is too difficult to find

It's in the Terms of Use you're required to agree to each patch and when creating or managing your account. How forceful do you want Riot to be about making people read it?

the summoner's code can be simplified by Wheaton's Law: Don't be a dick.

This post should be in memes & games.

yes

everyday, after i wake up i read it, i preach it to my people on a daily basis. And, when i will have kids, i will teach them the way of the summoner code.

No one follows it anymore its sad but true not even myself at least not down to the fine line parts.

TWO GAMES RIOT, TWO GAMES, In a row Riot, its really stressful I had Jungle run into my lane and flat out fucking troll pinging they go in then not committing to the fight doing this (VERY EARLY GAME) not mid game, Not Late game sole purpose to provide the enemy team an advantage, Then start fights in chat to the point where both games I have to mute everyone... Please Riot League was once a fun game now it feels like a Stressful job.

Wait a minute join another game...

Of course man. If you're the type of person who does all this, you must be a pretty happy person and it can only make others happy. All you miserable fucks who go straight to insults and berating... I pity them. Who wouldn't want to be happy?

Nobody follows these, it just makes no sense to. Why would you support our team when our the rest of your team isn't? Why would you drive constructive feedback when it's just going to be interpreted as flaming? Why would you even try to make civil discussion when your team just flames you and laughs at you? Why would you care about enjoying yourself if people pick troll lanes, and cost you the game, but it's not reportable?

People do build relationships, but there's a ton of people out there, and a lot of shit to wade through before you get anything close to a person you would want to talk to Nobody shows proper sportsmanship, on either side of the field. Players have to experience 'ggez' from lv 1 to lv 30 and there's this expectation to be sportsmanlike suddenly? Players just plain don't follow rules 7 or 8 flat out. Nobody cares if they're playing with a newbie. I've played with friends and gotten flamed so hard I thought I was Brand . There are a few players who listen in game, but the vast majority do not want to listen to criticism and it is readily shown in the boards and in game, which brings me to my most important point.

Why, oh why on this ball of crap that is earth would we lead by example when there is no reason to? If you're asking us to |lead by example| you're asking us to give players a good face for league and a good experience. I want that. I want to be a part of that. But why would I when basically every other rule is broken by others and yet Riot fails to do the basic job of moderating off the basis of your own EULA? Why would I care more about the rules Riot laid down than Riot themselves?

You can say that it's tough to look at any one game or player and make a judgment based off that, but if Riot actually backed up what their EULA suggested, we wouldn't have this massively toxic community.item 3070 item 3070

Summoners were removed during the lore rework, so the code doesn't exist. Except they're...back now? But...they're...not?? Maybe eventually but we've heard stuff like that a million times? tl;dr report lore team inflaming the situation

Sarcasm aside, yea, if there's an opportunity. But that's becoming incredibly uncommon. Maybe it's the impact of the election on everyone's willingness to coexist? A lot of the time, the only option is muting people and moving on; people don't want to be cooperative or civil. Can't convince someone who's really determined to ruin things to change their mind. Being a jerk is either a conscious choice, or a natural state, depending on the individual. One of those is only possible to change through clinical treatment, and with the sheer amount of divisiveness as of late, the other takes more time to change than is available within a game.
