Why lose points with an AFK?

More so... why do players lose the SAME amount of points when you have an AFK on your team?

Id be happy to lose some points if the AFK loses more! Don't give me that Garbage around bad internet, slow computers and my mum said it was my bed time... Then don't play ranked simple.

I recall going AFK once in my many years playing and that was because my internet died, I wasn't happy but if i knew the consequences before entering a ranked game I'd accept my loss of greater LP - then i wouldn't play a ranked game again unless I knew my TEAM could rely on me.

4v5 is possible but in reality you're likely to lose because its unbalanced so ad some balance in the points lost please.

Also... player connects then D/C after a couple of mins... no remake available??? Or player is AFK for 0-5mins then connects, Im guessing in Challenger the opponent would scale so much from being ahead I assume that it is kinda unbalanced. Why even start the game if not all players have connected?! Wouldn't see that in a Pro Tournament Game - Faker fails to connect but they crack on with the game anyways while he swaps out the blown PSU? summoner 3

Itd be really easy for exploit abuse. People could just DC if they are losing and it'd save their friends if they are queued with someone. It'd be just like allowing the game to end with no type of punishment if someone DCed

Because giving people the opportunity to lose less would be exploitable. And I don't doubt for a second that that's exactly what would happen, were Riot to implement something like that.

You cannot predict power outages or any other events that could possibly lead to you having to step away from the game. Sure, someone might have a really bad internet connection and cause issues for their team, but let's not look at it so one-dimensionally.
