Why do people want to report you for having a bad game?
Are they stupid or something?

They just assume everyone who feeds that isn't themselves is doing it on purpose.
They're asking to be banned. Making a post of "please ban my account" doesn't get immediate attention from riot; a simply report threat usually will, however, assuming someone in the game reports them.
It's difficult to tell, especially in lower elo whether someone is intentionally feeding or just having a bad game.
It's a dumb knee-jerk reaction to having an underperforming teammate, and rationality has nothing to do with it. I got reported for "feeding" in a game where I went 6-10 by somebody who went 5-10 a couple weeks ago.
When you pick cleanse/ghost nunu support yes they will say that
It makes them feel better because then they can pretend they're some infallible god and it's all that player's fault.
i dont want to report you for feeding. i want to report you because you dont listen when i say farm under tower or you will just die a 7th time
