The report system and toxicity of players and or player is leading a team-based game to a mute game.

I would just like to say that league is a highly competitive team-based game that usually requires teammates being able to talk with one another so they can coordinate team fights right? Riot has done a horrible job in this field! Now a days people are getting banned and are afraid of even talking in a game it is insane!! Players now just straight up mute everyone at the start of their game, because they're afraid if they don't something might be said that is apparently "TOXIC" and they will receive punishment for it! The way riot staff have went about this is all wrong! The game is suppose to be fun and enjoyed with your friends or strangers on the same team as you where in order to win you have to work and communicate as a team to beat your opponents! Now everyone is scared to even talk in the game for the fear of being reported and immediate repercussions for their actions in game. People no longer feel safe to enjoy the game and talk to one another because of the report system, and RIot you're making it worse by show casing worlds lcs players in a tournament where communication is key to win, and you literally throw it back right at us. What are we to do as players individually? You can't communicate with your team, because you might get banned for it.

Just GG riot you've done a really great job... NOT

The types of people being pushed to “mute all” and not communicate are not the type of players you want communicating anyway. The reason those players are doing that is because they refuse to behave appropriately, they are unable to take criticism or advice from others, and much of their desired chat messages they want to send are going to be toxic.

You are actually better off if players like that are not using chat, because their toxicity and inability to cooperate with others will only bring the team down.

League is not competitive. It's ruled by trolls.

Eh.. the people that are afraid of the system are those that don't understand how the system works.

Granted, Riot does a poor job in educating people how the system works, but if people can understand what is harassment and insults, then they wouldn't need to be afraid of the system regardless of how poor of a job Riot does to educate players.

Yep. It's hilarious at this point. Riots discipline system is intended to make it so people only say nice things in an intense, competitive game where your goal is to kill everyone. Makes sense

Rujitra obviously is not a ranked player and has no idea what he is talking about. The problem is that Riot catered to these liberal kids who believe it's okay to go 0-10, and that they have a right to act offended if someone asks them to "stop feeding." So now every single time someone loses a game, they look to blame someone on their team who offended them and report them instead of reflecting on themselves in what they did wrong. Riot made these kids never take responsibility for anything and the encouragement from these board mods/specialists etc. just shows how garbage this system is.

The entire report system should be removed/revamped to only deal with trolls/extreme homophobia & racism/intentionally feeding. People should be grown enough to use the mute button if someone on the interwebs hurts their e-feelings. Kids these days are complete fucking pansies because Obama and Riot taught them to 1.) Beg for handouts, 2.) Use the race card, or 3.) act offended by everything and you will get stuff for free. Joke community, joke company, and joke report system confirmed.

ppl are not scared to talk because riot did a bad job about it

if anyone is scared of that then that person chat is full of toxicity anyway and is completely pointless/useless for him to talk

toxicity dont bring enjoyment/fun toxicity is not strategic because all it do is tilt another player or make ppl lose focus so punishing it is fair enough work from riot

I disagree. Not my experience at all. If there are full muters, I wouldnt notice them anyways since they dont talk and theres plenty of other people using chat, so i just never notice them. If so many people were afraid to use chat, I think games would be a lot quieter than I experience. I think youre taking exaggerated memes like "better not say anything or youll get banned" and treating them like reality. Those are just bad jokes made to mock the system. Theyre made by the same people who say trendy meme kid shit all the time, like all yasuo players are toxic and oh if theyre toxic theyll fit in well here. Its just jokes. Most people use chat. Use your game experience, not forum people. This is such a small slice of the players it doesnt really represent anything.

Hell, if anything, people have been advised to full mute in order to climb because the chat is usually a distraction, and can often tilt you because people DO use chat and DO insult eachother very often. So they say its best to just mute so you dont find yourself suddenly arguing with another player. Im speaking of guides to climbing ranked, not guides to avoid bans. The fear of ban has nothing to do with it. Its a fear of distraction and losing due to it, in my opinion. I know its just an opinion and not fact, but thats what your post is as well.

Indeed.

Players who are naturally rude might have a hard time using chat. If they don't know how the IFS system works, then they are forced to mute all to avoid getting punished.

This is partially riot's fault for making the chat moderation system strict, and being vague on what is punishable.

Though I think communication without voice chat is usless as pings are more effective and sufficient, and typing takes up time. Players shouldn't be scared to type in a multiplayer game.

I thought this post was going to say, "This is a team game that should have great communication so it's a shame that the community is so toxic that reasonable players have to frequently /mute all." Imagine my surprise that you think the problem is with the report system allegedly scaring toxic players into not speaking. Um, good? The only people who should be afraid of the report system are people who say things that are report-worthy. I wish all the flamers in my games would just never speak and /mute all so they can focus on the game instead of tilting their own teammates. Instead, I end up having to mute and report them, knowing that the rest of the team probably won't mute and will be distracted and tilted.

I wish all toxic players would agree with you that "communication is the key to winning" so they will stop flaming and just focus on being constructive, but in the meantime, it's fine by me if they are too scared of being punished to type in chat at all.
