Just wanted to share something...
For all you people not going anywhere in either the game or in life.
"Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything."
- George Bernard Shaw
"If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."
- Wayne Dyer
"Without a struggle, there can be no progress."
- Frederick Douglass
You guys want to be higher ranked or better players but let's be honest, the vast majority of League's community is low elo for a reason. Most people just refuse to acknowledge their mistakes and keep failing or even when they do, they don't seek out solutions to the madness and keep failing. They'll make one mistake one game and repeat it the next. They'll hear advice from several people and not apply it at all in their gameplay. They'll blame their team for the loss instead of themselves (but tbh some games are lost because you have trolls or 0/500/0 feeders not cuz you suck).
Despite being only Silver, I see I've come a long way from the shitty lv 22 scrub back in Season 4 who thought he was Diamond potential just cuz if his dumb friends could do it so could he. I remember my placement matches and going 2/8 and thinking that whole time "WOW I'M PLACED IN BRONZE 3 GG NOOB TEAM." Then I stepped back, watched some guides and climbed out of Bronze in no time. Now currently, I don't play as much ranked and try to have casual fun in ARAM or test out new builds or champs in Norms. When I do play ranked though, I go try-hard because you have to in that situation. Don't ever for christ's sake half-ass a Ranked game and decide "Meh, this isn't fun. GG AFK." No. No. No.
COMMIT.
If you're losing, keep going to see how far you can reach before the end. Oh what's that? You finally finished your fourth item and magically one shot their ADC and Support!? Damn son! Imagine if you decided to call it quits before that happened. You'd never know that powerspike in that stage of the game and hell that one move could singlehandedly turn the tides in your favor. I've seen and played plenty of games where a team will flat out throw HARD. They make the wrong decisions or position themselves poorly and suddenly an even game turns to a massacre.
Let's go back to Douglass' quote, "Without a struggle, there can be no progress." It may be fun to keep winning games but what happens when you finally face people equal to or greater than you? I've encountered that after a huge winning streak when I hit Bronze 1. Suddenly I started losing over and over. My winrate probably dropped from 65% to 52% in a matter of a few games all because i was so used to wiping out easier opponents. But looking back, it really taught me to appreciate a loss so long as I learned from it. And that's something you guys need too. It's acceptable to get upset but clear your mind and think after each death, "Why did that happen?" Should you have warded smarter? Maybe you overextended? Perhaps you neglected the minimap and didn't see that MIA midlaner? All important lessons to take back home.
Honestly, the best advice I ever got that helped me a TON to end the losing streak in my ranked games was to always assume your opponent is better than you. Always assume they're trying to bait you in for a gank. Always assume an MIA laner (even if they actually recalled) is coming to get you. Always assume they have their cooldowns up to take you down. Always assume they will outplay you at any given moment. Now I may be just exaggerating this tip but the concept here is to never underestimate your opponent. I can't even tell you how many times I lost a lane because I got cocky and kept going in for kills only to be 3 man top gangbanged every time I left the fountain. A side note to this is to always assume your teammates are unreliable and will not be there to help you. Do not think just because the enemy mid is coming top that your mid will also come. Don't try to initiate unless you know for sure your team will follow up properly on the engage. This is especially important in solo queue where most people will just flat out have no coordination and flail around helplessly hoping to get an Ace.
Welllll shiit this has gonne onn loong enoughaajfklas;fkj. Went on a bit of uh a rant there. I just wanna see you 'trash' players get better without saying "YOU SUCK, GIT GUD."
