Title says it all. I got a 14 day ban, and when I checked why, it pulled up the exact same game I got chat restricted for yesterday. I don't understand?

ModThe Djinn3 votesDid the game involves zero-tolerance language, such as hate speech or encouragement to self harm? I believe the two systems are not directly connected, and so it's possible that one may have punished you before the other found worse behavior.
I would suggest sending a ticket to player support though, who would be able to help you better understand what happened and whether or not they can help you resolve the situation.

Chermorg2 votesI doubt they would answer this, but I suspect it could be triggered based on a number of factors, some of which may be specific trigger phrases, some of which may be manual review of support tickets, some of which may be general audits of their IFS software.. etc.
I see no reason that triggering manual review would have to be anywhere near as stringent as what merits an escalated punishment. The whole point of that manual review is to see if it does or not, thus having a lot of wide-grabbing triggers so long as they aren't so wide grabbing as to overload the team, would be preferable.

I get that what I said was wrong, and I was punished for it. I don’t get why I have to be punished for a second time.

Probably because a rioter was offended themselves by the word lol, when a situation like the one comes up, you’re punishing me twice because your system messed up. It’s sad that you guys fail to understand how much a chat restriction actually hurts for 10 games. Not only that, the chat restriction was NOT lifted. I completed all the games to get off of it. The 14 day ban was ADDED to the sentence. You fail to address THAT issue, stop dodging this part of the problem, please

Given that it took a manual review I would hazard a guess that the unacceptable behavior was purposefully attempting to avoid detection, in which case I think it's perfectly fair that you serve both sentences.

I got a ban for saying someone is childish (basic recap.) him and his buddy reported me. don't worry neither of them were effected for behavior on league that shouldn't be acceptable. Such as racism and telling to commit self harm. They still played. I tracked them the whole time while I was banned. I asked support saying that is an unjustified ban. They looked at it saying that telling them that they need to grow up or anything in that matter is disrespectful and not seeing the other half of the story.
Riot bases their ban of HALF a story. It doesn't matter what the others did. Riot doesn't give a flyin f*** about the game in question as a whole. if they did they would review the WHOLE chat log in game instead of just one. But a bot runs it. so a group of 4 can ban the other guy just cause he said "report X" because that also is harassment and is bannable. for just saying report.
I suggest just dealing with it. Get some tilt control. let it be a lesson really. if your that pissed at a game. mute everyone and don't type. just get tilt control.

Given that each player is entirely responsible for their own chat, and that there is no context that makes toxic chat not-toxic, no. That is not the right answer.

If I’m banned for saying the earth is flat, they will justify saying that my opinion may have been offensive. My support ticket as met with someone who was telling me that I was wrong and that I was toxic. And that’s not even half of the story. I got punished TWICE. Riot should honestly admi be a mistake was made. If I was a popular streamer that brought them views I guarantee that they would have lifted the ban. Pathetic.

Imaqtpie has gotten multiple chat restrictions, and if you watch his stream, isn’t warned for some things I have been warned for wording the exact same thing. Tyler1 (regarding AFTER his unban) has called people trash and has never been punished. Tobias Fate as INTED and nothing afaik has been done to his account. That’s 3 at the top of my head. Next?

Imperial Pandaa2 votesThere is a difference between you and the streamers, and it isn't that you aren't a popular streamer (well there is that but it is non factor).
Reports and location.
If they aren't getting reported then they will not be punished. Higher elo when you start playing with the same people over and over, you don't get reported as often.
Location. Are they saying this stuff in game chat? Are they typing this or are the verbally saying it on their stream? Because Riot doesn't police streams and what streamers say verbally; unless they are being considered for a Riot Sponsored event (like Scouting Grounds).
