There needs to be a report option for over use of the ping system. To often a player will ping something obvious that has no bearing on what is really going on, then will continue to ping 3 and 4 times at the same location, it's distracting and people use it as a tool to annoy you after you mute them. Really needs to be a disable ping feature.
Have you considered that there's a reason they are pinging?
Maybe if you stop thinking that they are mentally handicapped you can start working with them instead of against them.
maybe the excessive pings are needed because most people are focused on small portions of the game, and having a buzzing might finally get their attention?
Have you tried politely explaining why you can't assist them? Example: "Hey bot, I won't be able to help you right now. Top lane is really suffering and needs me more. Play safe until I get top in a good spot."
Nah I'm 29, a sponsored player with a back ground in professional gaming. These people can't even articulate what they need help with. I know because I have asked them many times. There is a mini map and anyone with good decision making can clearly see what needs to happen. Someone pinging attack this target 4 times is in no way needed and is just distracting. What happens is a player that isn't good will not be able to find a way to contribute to the team properly and start to get frustrated. I'll put it to you this way, say a store owner needs his employee's to stack some boxes by 10 o'clock and it's 9, but something came up by 9:30 the employee's started to panic feels that what he is doing is important so he reaches out to the owner to ask for help. But the owner is on the phone with a whole-saler negotiating a deal for the store stock. The owner explains that he is on the phone with the whole-saler and another company is on line 2 wanting to place a order. The employee says well I need help with these boxes, won't go away, doesn't understand. Owner says I'll have to let you go, employee says just help me with the boxes and we can get them stacked by 10. Owner calls security and has him escorted out.(aka Riot enable a mute ping feature)
