Do players who do this sort of thing actually get punished or does the system more of less ignore it because people occasionally trade roles in ranked. when I queue up for ranked I'm trying to play a competitive match to win, and having someone try to forcably take my roll just because they are higher in selection isn't fun. wasn't the role system suppose to prevent this? is there nothing in place to stop me from just doing this to someone else?

side note: I'm really looking forward to the rank-by-role system.

yes stealing someones role is reportable. but riot does nothing against it sadly. i remember when we finally got role selection into ranked i was soooo hyped especially because riot said that if someone steals your role you have a legit reason to report them. sadly nothing gets done about it :(

Yeah, it's reportable, but it would have to be a lot of reports to get actionable. If he just chooses a off meta pick (like a marksman) but plays it as support that's fine. Or if he plays support but has a weird style (like counter jungle roaming support nunu) that's also fine. But if he is intentionally flaming you like taking your cs and baiting you in to your death that's reportable. Unfortunately Riot works on a weighted system where light trolling takes far more reports than like flaming or harassment. If I remember correctly everything has a specific value in terms of severity and then additional weight is added for multiple reports. Harassment highly likely to get action, inting and afking moderate, and light trolling almost guaranteed no action.

I've said for a long time that Riot needs to not differentiate and just up the severity of all offenses to the level of harassment and call it a day. To me, at the end of the day, disrespect is disrespect. If you're not in a position to be sportsmanlike go play a solo game.

Yes, and it happened to me few times. It's annoying.

No, you can't report someone for wanting to play double adc or something else. Now if they were toxic about it then yes you can report them for verbal abuse, but you can't report someone because they didn't want to play the same way you did.
