To talk or not to talk?

Hello everyone, I always wonder if saying positive things in chat " good job team" etc makes you gain faster than disabling chat and never saying anything.

Yes, positivity will advance you faster than neutral chat or not chatting at all.

We know for sure that bad words / negativity will slow down honor gains/recovery, but I don't think we have been told that positive words will make that faster. However, by being positive in the chat, you are more likely to receive honors and improve your honor gains that way. You will also win more due to positivity rubbing on the team (at least sometimes) and thus fighting harder for that win.

My opinion is to give praise to your team for everything they do and you approve. calls, plays anything. Saying something genuinely positive will never result in something bad. Again, this is just personal experience so feel free to contradict me on it, but even when your team takes a bad call or whatever, just say something relaxing and it will help everyone reset their focus.

nope, it will take you 7-10 months to get back to honor level 2, and thats only if you never speak in game again so that you don't get reported and chat restricted again which automatically resets the honor level to zero. its a very poorly coded system and unfortunately there isn't a single good thing about it and its incredibly difficult to reform. if you never type again in game its a benefit at the least.

Displaying neutral or positive will progress you faster than simply keeping quiet 24/7, at least from what I understand anyways.

I've always been at the top honour level as they become unlocked, and I don't say a word in any game ever. It's just too tempting to pop off on people who I disagree with, so I leave the enter key untouched during matches. And when people do say positive things, I usually feel like they're fishing. Or even sometimes grate on my nerves by typing instead of focusing no matter what was written.

In general, it all depends on your team. You're always going to have 4 people with 4 fresh perspectives. You do you, and hope you mix well with the batch.

generally i prefer being the positive person in lobby game. saying "hello everyone" in lobby, and "gj" when people get kills or do something good. or encouraging our team even when we are behind.

but...

its surprising how many people actually get pissed about this (to which i instantly mute them). some even report you for toxicity for simply saying "hello everyone" in pre game lobby, and (if you dont mute them) will just flame all match. probably they just think its funny to be a toxic troll.

i do like to think though, i get more honors, and that it helps the team perform better being positive, and saying positive things (and muting the negative toxic trolls). but i do know (well i assume so based on them claiming to have reported me) i've been reported as toxic many times by people that were upset about me being nice. and with the system being partially automated... and customer support obviously not looking into things much, its something to consider weighing vrs just mute all.

Bad words = ban Good words = system not programmed for it

best not to talk. players dont have anything nice to say to begin with.
