Elo ratings ????

Not real sure this is in the correct forum. I started playing LoL in Oct of 2017. While i do like the games and find it interesting I'm a bit confused by the elo rating system and the attitudes of many players in the game. Seems if Your losing Bashing them verbally is the best thing they do.... Not constructive criticism. So far I have played 5 ranked solo games. All games have been losses. Yet no clue what the ratings of the other players on each team were. Just curious if at some point I will find my self playing with people of the same caliber of play as me and not diamond or platinum players ?

Yes, the more you play the more accurately the game can place you. And for reference, you are currently being placed against players in mid silver.

The highest any of those players you played with was Gold 4, by the way.

You can check their stats and your own at na.op.gg

When you first start ranked, you will be playing against mid silver MMR players. You were most certainly not playing against any Diamond or Platinum players. As for your question, there isn't any way to answer that without somehow knowing how good/bad you are. If you've only been playing for a few months, then you probably shouldn't even be playing ranked anyway.

I am a newer player as well, started at the end of August, looking at your match history and profile, pick 2-3 champs that you feel you do well with. Stay away from ranked for a month or 2, and learn those champs, once comfortable, expand your roster of champs you enjoy.

Myself, i didn't play a ranked game for at least 2 months, maybe longer, If you like Support, blind is not bad to play in, rarely do you get contested for support, and once you start to play draft as a support main, you are autofilled protected, and 99.9% of the time you will get your role.

check some build paths and guides on these websites.

and if you search the champ you want to learn on youtube, good chance you can find some guides, some of the youtubers do a good job on explaining how/why they play the champ you are interested in, not just this sweet looking pentakill, and not explaining the hows and whys they do certain things. (Just make sure to filter the results for the last month or 2, no use watching a video from 2 years ago, since the game is constantly changing)

Just my 2 cents offered here, but don't rush ranked play to early, you will just get frustrated and it will take the fun out of the game.

That is the other side of where it gets frustrating. There are 5 roles to play . And in ranked there seems to be NO Guarantee that you will get either. I set it up too be Mid or bottom. And then somebody dodges and it restarts the process and I a assigned a different role.
