Honor should be based on season behavior, not END of season behavior

I know some people who have been honor locked honor 0 two and 3 times and are still back at honor 2 and will receive rewards, yet there are people who get knocked down from honor 4-5 who have been good all season and are now at honor 0-1 right before the season ends. I think something should be done before end of season to address this.

Thoughts?

It's hard to swallow, but let me explain this as short as possible: If you do not misbehave you will not be punished.

You know when the season ends and you know what happens if you now start flaming, inting or whatever. It sounds easy and it actually is - if you have at least a tiny bit of self-control - super easy: Just don't do stupid things at the end of the season.

It's like in real life. You know it is almost Christmas. You know that you want to spend time with your family. You also just robbed a bank and will end up in jail. No more christmas with family.

Is it now the state's fault that they locked you away at Christmas eve, although you did not break the law for the rest of the year?

In my case me and a friend were in a game with a trio who were following eachother and us around all game and spamming laugh and stuff and we nicely asked them to stop and they kept doing it. They began to talk and ask a lot of stuff in chat which we were talking back because it was a 100% loss, though we both stilll played our best and tried to win, and in the end of the game they reported for "arguing". Got a chat ban for "arguing". not inting, trolling, calling names. but arguing in a game where we were the ones being trolled. Just seems wrong given the fact I wasnt looking to ruin anyoness game.

Understand this: the system punishes based on consistency x severity. If you didn't have a previous history of toxicity, you wouldn't be punished for that 1 game alone.

So that one game you mentioned is just the straw that broke the camel's back. In truth, you need to look at the whole picture of all the other games with you displayed less than desirable verbal behavior.

Legit point. Have never really thought of it that way. I still personally believe it should be based off the entire season given its a full season reward.

I would say that, if Riot did this, they're most likely to become more strict than less strict. Currently it's an issue of timing alone, with all else being equal, and I frankly think that's pretty fair.

do you know why that is?

because different people have different definitions of "reforming" and riot only cares about the ones that don't employ any sort of toxicity, despite still actively using the chat.

It's always been that end-of-season behavior affects your reward status, where ending with a chat restriction or ban during the last 3 months would make you ineligible.

This still encourages reform, because if you get a punishment earlier in the season, you'll still have time to reform and get back to honor 2.

So is the end of a season not part off the season? In my book, the end of something is still part of that something. The end of a movie is still part of a that movie, for instance.

Maybe your request should be:

Honor should be based on the beginning an middle parts of the season behavior, not END of season behavior

That seems to be more in line with your reasoning. If that is your request, then I, wholeheartedly disagree.

How about, if you're not toxic all season long, you stay not toxic towards the end of the season, and DON'T get punished in the first place? Just a thought....
