Thank you Riot

Last night I had some spare time and decided to try a ranked match. Everything was going well until in champ select our toplaner asked if he could play mid. Our midlaner told him that he wasn't very good at toplane and didn't have a good champion pool for it. This is when everything went down hill.

Our toplaner promptly begins to rage in chat about how worthless our mid will be and how he stole his position. He goes on about how our mid is unranked and doesn't deserve to be mid. He then says that he doesn't own top champions, locks in teemo, and at the start of the match types in gg and I give up.

We were actually doing pretty well for the first 15 min despite the fact that Teemo kept feeding Fiora kills. We kept telling teemo that everything would be fine and just to play safe. But that only seemed to make him complain more. Eventually it became too difficult to play, Fiora was a beast which allowed the jungler to camp other lanes and everything spiraled out of control from there.

Teemo kept saying that he couldn't get banned because he was just not playing well and didn't know how to beat Fiora, he also kept saying that he hadn't said anything toxic in chat either so there was nothing riot could do. At the end of the game he said that he would enjoy the reports because he couldn't get punished, so I reported him. Less than a min later I received a message saying that a player I recently reported had been punished.

Thank you Riot for the work you do to make league a better place. I know it isn't perfect and it cant undo the games we lose because of people like that. But its nice to see a little justice once in a while.

One idea I had regarding ranked matches and trolls, was that in ranked matches if a player is reported and receives a punishment immediately, their teammates LP loss would be reduced for that game. Maybe it wouldn't work, maybe it wouldn't be fair, just an idea :)
