Why is "Verbal abuse" punished more than leaving the game

Here is my one and only argument for the reason this should be reversed.

if you dont want to listen to me complain about 4v5s and im "abusing" you can press this magical mute button.

if im stuck in an unwinnable 4v5 i get to sit there for 15-30 minutes and suffer.

yes i get a little mad in a ruined game and might get a little mad at the people forcing me to still play it but i looked up the guy who RUINED THE MATCH IN THE FIRST PLACE and he has done this ALOT and he has never been punished for it he is still playing games

the fix i can think of to making me not feel dead inside during these games? a safe to leave option like dota 2 has

League is a video game, and as such it takes a back seat to reality. There are times where leaving the game is an acceptable thing to do.

There is never an acceptable time for verbal abuse.

tbh op your going to be down voted. But there is no one on here who can make a valid argument why afk doesn't get punished as much as verbal abuse.

Because an AFK could be caused by any number of things, like an emergency in real life (one that I had to address, myself), some technical issue like a non-existant firewall blocking your access to the game (again, dealt with that), a bluescreen (again, had that happen), a blackout (had that happen at least three times since I started playing in 2013), data corruption (didn't have that happen, but it's happened to more than a few people) or you got DDOSed by someone in the game (had that happen once last month). There's basically no way for Riot to know the truth behind each and every case. It's not an easy-to-track thing like the chat logs.

What it DOES punish is consistent behavior. If you actually disconnect from the game yourself (which is usually backed up by chat logs and character behavior), and you have a consistent history of doing this (the one-offs aren't counted), then you get punished for going AFK.

RIot's a joke, and so is their automatic system. If any other company tried this shit, they'd be boycotted and left to die in the dirt. Unfortunately, they've build up one of the strongest MOBA's out there. However, with the way they've been running this into the ground, it won't last for long. Go try out another MOBA. Riot's a complete joke, and I can't wait until they lose everything. Edit: spelling
