I often tell flaming teammates (In as near of a sarcastic manner as typing a message can convey) "Oh yes, calling us various unpleasant names or other derogatory terms is certainly going to BOOST our morale."

PSA: Lumping all criticism together as "flaming" does not help you improve. I'm not denying that some people blatantly talk shit for no reason, but taking offense to everything and not trying to learn from your mistakes is not going to help you climb.

Constructive criticism has its place. But, it's hard to avoid the knee jerk response of calling someone trash for a lot of people. I think it's better to just keep your mouth shut and try to lead your team with pro-activity rather than dwelling on what someone did wrong and bringing it up in chat.

Most times, people know they fucked up and what they did wrong. Bringing it up often makes people defensive and tilty. Consider the actual reasoning behind making a comment. Are you actually trying to help that person improve? Are you mad at them because they made a play that threw the game? Are they making the same mistake over and over again? Are they already tilting and raging and are you just fueling the fire? What is the motivation? Because most times when you bring up something negative about an individual they just tilt harder, and we all know this... it's not new and its not a phenomena constrained only to LoL.

It's not about making them play better, it is that people play to WIN and they see you as something that drags them down, so they hate you for it and flame you.
