A post's upvotes do not determine it's credibility

I've seen so many people say that a post is correct because it has a lot of upvotes, oftentimes it's just people inciting an emotional environment with their posts that encourages people to upvote, or they are just stating popular opinions.

There are posts that have a mountainous amount of upvotes that either present no hard evidence for their claims, or are asking people for opinions while they present their own opinion that happens to be popular. There's nothing wrong with the latter, but it doesn't automatically ensure that they are correct or right.

And like I said, some people are just emotional and present an air of fervor to get people to upvote, or be emotional and state a popular opinion at the same time. As an example, there is a post on the "best" page that is titled "Fuck Mobility Creep" and the text within the post says "It's getting r%%%%%ed" plus an edit saying "Edit: The fact that a 6 word post saying fuck mobility creep, its getting r%%%%%ed was enough to get this many upvotes this fast gives me hope for the LoL community."

Do you think that this is a fantastic argument, it's just an angry acknowledgement of mobility creep and his opinion on it, and a marveling that the post got so many upvotes.

A post's upvotes mean nothing, I actually have a feeling this post will be downvoted because of this claim being disagreed with or just as a joke, or maybe not since posts saying they will be downvoted never seem to be actually downvoted. Either way, I want the reader to upvote if they think it's a good post, downvote if it's a bad post, and not just take my opinion here for granted. If you disagree, then discuss it down below, I'm willing to debate.

If we are on the boards, it's always opinions. It's my opinion that draven is strong. And if that post gets a lot of upvotes, that means a lot of people like my opinion and have the same opinion. And if there are a lot of players having the same opinion it is more likely that there lies some truth in the given statement.

Of course the ammount of likes is no guarantee for anything, but i don't agree on "A post's upvote mean nothing"
