It really feels like a broken system. I used to be toxic 2 years ago. It seems once you've had a penalty you're account is stained for life.
My friend who actually is toxic has had 3 checkpoints in the last month while ive had 0. He's honor 5 and Im 2 checkpoint 3.
Anyone gotten to honor 5 after having penalties?
cheiften983 votesPosts like these just make me dislike the community more. People act like they are robots with no emotion and have never said a bad word in their lives. Really snobby. People have bad days IRL then when that shit carry's over into a game and you utter "f4ck you" to someone running down mid its considered "toxic".
The longer I havnt leveled up my honor the more and more convinced I am that the system is broken or it permanently stains accounts with previous suspensions.
Irelia Bronze52 votesThe system is capped at 1 checkpoint a week so you can't get more than this, also best way I suppose would be to make a team of 5 premade and play games like ARAM and surrender at 8 minutes, while not using the chat (as everything is toxic according to riot report system).
All you need is play a bunch of non-toxic games, however your progress is capped at climbing 1 checkpoint per week.
If you play like 10 a day, you will climb 1 checkpoint per week.
cheiften981 votesThere are 4 weeks in a month... Anyway he gets around 1 Honor checkpoint or now level 5 casual once every 2 weeks. Its been 2 months since my last checkpoint. The only things I type in chat are commenting on thiccness of a champ, memeing with fellow players. I honestly dont remember the last time I flamed. Maybe in a ranked match 200 games ago when I was in my promos and my teamates started running down mid. I hardly think thats a fair comparison to the average toxic player who screams at someone for having a bad game.

Toxicity is bad because it ruins the match for other players. Who's game was really ruined in a promo match where 3 people ran it down mid?

Kei1431 votesIf you get validly reported, your honors progress will be put to a screech halt. It doesn't matter if others were worse than you, as you are judged on your behavior alone.
If you submit a ticket to Riot support, they will be able to tell you whether you've been validly reported in your recent games and probably tell you what you are doing right/wrong.

Ye they brought up match from 200+ games ago. The one I already talked about. From early July Im fairly sure.

I get honors every other match, so have no idea where the valid reports would of come from.
Kei1432 votesYou do know that one can honor and report you for the same game? Just because one person honors you doesn't mean others won't report you. But ultimately, if you are toxic (even if it's mild in severity) in your games, then there is no need to fear being validly reported.
Also, getting individually honored is pretty slow way of progressing honors. The team honors bonus contributes alot more to your honors progression, so make sure you encourage others to honor someone, preferably not yourself as that's just gloating.

team honor bonus is rare as people would rather flame. I will usually honor the person who had a bad game to make them feel better.

cheiften981 votesThe honor system doesnt help to reform players it just frustrates them. If I was still toxic from a penalty 2 years ago I would of received another penalty. This doesnt make me want to be (and continue) to be an honorable player it just makes me want to quit the game or return to how I used to play.
