Toxicity is being a negative influence on your teammate. Doing such as responding to toxicity by typing back and keeping the game in a negative state. What you did that was negative was blaming your teammate as they're at fault, continuously typing with a negative attitude, saying such as "No, you lost that chance to surrender", like you're trying to put the game at hostage, and pointing out their mistakes so you can provoke them.

That's what toxicity is. All that could have been avoided by muting them and not typing back at them in a negative way.

Constant grieving/bitching, saying nothing positive or constructive in the slightest, excused your teammates of intentionally feeding, being rather mean in general, probably typed 5 times more than your whole team combined, being a poor sport by calling it a bad game...

Just a bunch of little things that added up to one big problem. Now if we examine the "Thank You, Riot" post you linked, we'll find an even longer list of things that you will never put the effort to fix.
