Deleting threads that have player names

I can see the need for this system, if it was not enforced I can honestly see how it would bog these boards down with witch hunts; however, the reporting system is an imperfect system. It always has been. Honestly speaking I used to be a fairly toxic player, and many times I would get 9 man reported (not in a long time) very very rightfully b/c I was trolling a ranked game. I can say from experience I got punished by Riot maybe 1% of the time. Even when I was being extremely toxic, and at times would run it down mid.

I realize it wouldn't improve the likely hood of punishment from the higher ups but I could see the point of creating a section of boards where players could truly vent about the toxic players they match with if for no other reason than simple catharsis

We will not be doing this, because the entire point of the rules against naming and shaming other players is to avoid situations where individuals are called out by name and potentially harassed. Whether they have actually done things that are against the rules or not, it is not appropriate to drag them through the public space like this.

But it is appropriate to let them continue their poor behavior in game a ruin games for other people. They way I see it riot has to step up their punishment system or allow us to name and shame on the boards that way we can avoid playing games with the players that do this.

How exactly is naming and shaming a single person on the board going to prevent you from playing games with them.

Do you have any grasp of exactly how small of a chance you have at running into any one single player?

Never said it was. I have no influence on in-game behavior or punishment systems though.

That's basically the same as saying someone who robs a store shouldn't have their name released to the public. I feel like if you can post sufficient proof it should be ok to shame someone publicly. For instance if you post a video or photo proving the offense you should be allowed to publicly shame. Where as if you can not. Well then your thread gets deleted

No, it is not basically the same at all. This is a video game. This is not real life. If you have an issue with a player, Riot has a way for you to have yourself heard, which is by reporting after game or filling out a support ticket. Because, guess what, nobody on a forum knows if you're telling the truth about what happened or not. And even if the accused person did what you said they did, Riot has decided that reform is what they want from players, not public humiliation on their own forums.

You, by all means, can create a forum of your own with your own rules where people can have all the witch hunts they want.

And you're entitled to that feeling. It is not, however, a policy we're interested in changing at this time. There is a relatively small upside (venting), and a lot of potential downsides and increased moderation burden.

Fair enough. Increased moderation burden wouldn't be justified
