so i made a post where i asked if the method of sky williams (the youtuber) to tilt the enemy team is reportable.

my post gets removes and i get following message "From: Riot Games Hey Brâ1ncânc3r,

We understand that you want to get word out about this player and their in-game behaviors but this is not the correct avenue to get attention on them. Please continue to use our in-game reporting system to put these players through our behavioral systems."

UHM GET WORD OUT ABOUT THIS PLAYER HELLO??? i asked if his method is ok to use and not like "look i want to report sky williams" wtf mods? seriously. i DONT want to report sky williams or nameshare him I WANTED TO ASK IF WHAT HE DOES IS REPORTABLE

serious question: everytime someone links a video where someone talks about LoL or plays LoL and isnt behaving 100% perfect should i now report those threads for name shame? you cant be serious mods.

LOL I read the OP's original post. Had nothing to do with reporting anyone specifically. It was merely a question if a type of behavior was reportable. It is funny that he got nailed for it.

Yesterday I learned that the mods like to work on a "guilty until proven innocent" way.

I posted a match history where I went 24/18 because someone said that it's not possible to have a score like 21/19. I put no caption or anything on it to even imply that I was naming and shaming anyone. The only thing I put on there is the link to the match history, and the quote from someone else "how is it possible to go 21/19 in a game". My score was the only score close to 21/19.

It got deleted for naming and shaming.

The mods said it was because all 10 players names were on the match history link. Okay, but where's the shaming part? I didn't shame anyone. I didn't even mention any of the names on the match history link or single anyone out.

So I asked the mods "okay, if I'm naming and shaming, then who am I naming to shame, and how am I shaming them?"

And he pretty much said (not word for word, but something along the lines of) "I don't know (of course he doesn't know, because I wasn't naming or shaming anyone, I was posting my own score), but you might have been naming & shaming someone so we're just gonna assume you are."

Heya,

I reviewed the post in question and have un-deleted it. We currently don't usually remove references to pro players/famous streamers when it comes to discussing their actions. That being said, the behavior noted was very unsportsmanlike. While it may draw lots of hits on YouTube, it isn't necessarily acceptable in-game.

In regards to the Naming & Shaming policy in general on the Boards, if a post is discussing negative behaviors and links to match histories that show all names are included, we do remove that currently. If the discussion isn't about negative behaviors, they're left alone. It's a pretty straightforward policy that hasn't changed in as long as I've been here.

So without naming the person, tell what he does, and ask if it's reportable. Problem solved.

Lmfao... Did you see the Renegades vs Dignitas game where BillyBoss and KiwiKid died taking the bot turret and then Crumbz and Hakuho died to the Rift Herald?? Deleted for mentioning names These boards are dumb as fuck.

I was reading the post. Wasn't naming & shaming at all -___-

If you're talking about people who put themselves on the internet for public view, it shouldn't be called naming and shaming. It's called checking and balancing.

Let's say someone uploaded a video of themselves going AFk or intentionally feeding to YouTube. Calling him out isn't naming and shaming, it's letting youTube viewers know that you don't think his behavior is okay and trying to tell future viewers not to copy this behavior.

Regardless of what it is, I believe that if you put something on the internet, it is not only a right, but that it should be encouraged, for others to give an input on whether they believe your behavior is okay or not.

Naming names is against the rules.

You're the victim of a very persistent troll, plus... yeah, the mods going a bit overboard... Not sure you saw the other day when a particular person was making thread after thread calling you out specifically. Mods were playing whack-a-mole with the threads it seemed. I'd hope the player got a forum ban after 3-4 threads deleted for the same reason, but I don't know. I'd guess it was that guy (either on that account or an alt) who reported your thread.

Trylobyte3/7/2016, 4:44:57 PM2 votes

I'm gonna guess it went something like this:

  1. You made your post.
  2. Your post got reported by a bunch of people who thought you were name-shaming.
  3. A mod looked over it and drew the same conclusion.
  4. You got a shiny new message.

Since we don't have the exact post in front of us we can't see what your word choice was, but it may have led quite a few people to a conclusion you didn't intend.

Naramiel3/7/2016, 4:48:16 PM2 votes

While I didn't particularly love his post or the methods he was investigating, it was not remotely naming & shaming. Like, not at all.

Anraton3/7/2016, 4:31:08 PM2 votes

Well .. even you didn't intend it ... you named a player with a questionable behaviour and as that ... it is a "naming and shaming" conflict ...
