Why do people get all butthurt over "gg easy"?

Just played a game as against some golds and even though my team was severely behind I managed to powerfarm for and permasplitpush top while 1v1/2/3ing till we breached their gates.

I didn't say anything in game chat but in post game chat the enemy made a sarcastic comment about my boy Yi so couldn't help but say "tbh game was easy" then he proceeded to babyrage at me.

Why is it considered offensive by the majority of the community when it's just plain truth? Should I lie and say game was hard to look more sportsmanlike?

There's an option between "Good game, that was hard to pull off" and "Good game, easy win:" a simple "Good game." You don't need to rub an easy victory in your opponent's faces.

No one is asking you to pretend it wasn't easy: it's just not important (or useful, or sportsmanlike) to say that. "Good Game" is sufficient.

Honestly; it's just unsportsmanlike. It's the same reason people get offended when a LCS match ends, and one of the losing players refuse to give handshakes to the winners. It's just... rude.

You should not say anything. Oooo, you won a video game. I could ask the converse. Why do people feel the need to gloat in post-game chat. Yea, we know you won...we were there, remember? You want a medal for winning a game?
