Surrender Votes & Duo Queues (Rant)

So, I've played plenty of matches of League of Legends, had my fair share of clear-cut losses and turnarounds both, but gods almighty there seems to be one universal constant whenever a Surrender Vote pops up that never ceases to tilt me to the point where I'm just done for a while: Duo Queues.

I have no idea what it is with these people, that compulsively vote "no" on Surrender Votes as a duo queue, very clearly in spite of the visible loss the team as a whole is suffering. It's always ever when a loss is inevitable, that the enemy team very clearly has a better comp or just plain outskills our own, that when there's a duo queue in the match, they will always vote "no".

It irritates me to no end to see this, because I always try to self-moderate, and whenever I start getting hard losses, I take breaks, but these paired-up griefers always make the matches way, way worse and way, way longer than it needs to be, and I LOATHE having to spend more time cooling down because of these people.

In my most recent match (I got Jungle, but traded Mid under the knowledge that he was wanting to get better at it and I needed to shake of rust on Midlane), where our top laner had connection issues, my lane was lost because of Cho'Gath cheese, and jungle/bottom lane were relatively well-off, but our top laner's connection issues and Cho'Gath getting fed made it clear to all of us that there wasn't any chance of winning that match.

And of course, the bottom lane is a duo queue, and they vote "no". No, no, no, no no no. No surrender, just agony and painstakingly slow losses. And post-game, their reason for voting no on every single surrender vote that came up?

"i just wanted to play a game lol"

That is the most idiotic and half-assed reason for voting "no" that I have EVER seen. And the enemy team even defended them, saying "lol it's not ranked dude" - but that is well beside the point.

You Surrender when you know you can't win, and when you need to get out of the match without more vainglorious attempts to turn anything around, not to stop a game.

And further - Why come to NORMALS to "play a game"? If you want to play a game and don't care to win, TAKE IT TO BOTS OR CUSTOMS, NOT NORMALS. Some people WANT to win, and some people WANT to get out of matches that they know they CAN'T WIN so they don't have to get tilted off the face of the earth from some long, dragged-out loss.

It annoys the living Hell out of me that whenever a Surrender vote comes up, it's always the duo queues who decide the outcome, and the outcome is always "no".

I apologize for the coarseness, but I really had to get that off my chest.

As a frequent duo-queuer, I often find myself in a position to carry the game back from a losing position with the help of my duo partner. That's honest incentive to vote "no" that has nothing to do with griefing.

(And not directly related, but you seem really competitive regarding normals. Aren't normals the NON-competitive option? It would be one thing if you were enraged at somebody's refusal to take ranked seriously, but come on...)

I just had a game where the enemy team destroy ever turret of ours and we had two destroyed inhibitors. We managed to not only stall that out but also win the game because our late game team fight was better, I guess.

You are complaining as though winning is impossible, and here we had an open Nexus and won that game.

Cry more kid. Norms are not the place to get mad when you lose. Custom or bots is the most boring thing of this game and is a 100% win no matter what. How bout you play ranked if you are there to only win? lmao

Surrender a normal game? lol why. I'm in normals for fun or to practice flash combos.
